Role description

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

To manage all aspects of the Birmingham City Women & Girls programme, the strategy, staff and budgets.
To facilitate and manage the registration, recruitment, and re-engagement of all players in accordance with the regulations by which the Club is bound.
To project manage the transition of the Club’s player pathway ahead of season 23/24, in accordance with the regulations and compliance set out by the FA, delivering key changes in the Regional Talent Centre (RTC) and the WSL Academy team (U21s) age groups.
To provide leadership to key personnel, including Women’s team Head Coach, Club Operations Manager, Head of Performance, RTC Manager and Head of Youth Development.
To oversee the delivery of all professional, competitive fixtures, ensuring all regulations are met at all times.
To be the main point of contact to the Football Association for all matters relating to the Club and to be present at all league meetings, as a representative of the Club.
To manage all football administration matters and ensure compliance across governing bodies such as FIFA, UEFA and the FA.
To ensure the Club remains compliant and meets all deadlines as set by the regulatory/governing bodies.
To ensure all of the Club’s obligations and responsibilities are communicated to the Board, Senior Management Team and other key stakeholders.
Proactively drive the continuous improvement and development of the Club both on and off the field.
To develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all departments of the football club, ensuring the strategic direction of the Club is maintained.
To act as the Clubs Designated Safeguarding Officer, working closely with the Clubs Safeguarding Manager and Senior Safeguarding Manager.
To ensure delivery on all aspects of the Club’s Marketing plan and work with the Media team to promote the brand effectively through social media channels.
To work closely with the Commercial team to ensure delivery of all contractual rights to sponsors and partners.
Ensure the Clubs budget is monitored and managed in accordance with the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer, as well as the Chief Operating Officer.
Oversee kit purchasing and distribution for the club, working closely with the Club Operations Manager and Club Kit Manager.
To support all professional players as required.
To work with the ticketing department to drive attendances and create new audiences for the Women’s team.
All other duties that may arise from time to time and fall within the scope of the role and directed by the Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Requirements

Qualified by relevant experience
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle

Knowledge and Skills

Essential Requirements

General business management skills, ideally previous experience of working within a professional sports club environment
Experience of managing staff
Excellent time management skills and organisational skills
Delivery of large scale projects
Must possess excellent IT skills
Ability to manage and lead a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must adhere to confidentiality and data protection procedures at all times

Desirable Requirements

Experience of working in Women’s football
Knowledge and understanding of The Football Association
Experience of senior level operational management

This role is regarded as a ‘Regulated Activity’ and is therefore subject to an Enhanced DBS check, (previously a CRB check) which includes the barred list for working with children. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
