Purpose of the roleThis post requires flexibility, taking initiative and a proactive approach in dealing with the reactive and planned maintenance of the premises. The General Maintenance Operative is responsible for providing an efficient general maintenance and cleaning service to ensure that all club premises are presented and maintained to the highest standard for all club staff and the general public. Specific responsibilities and priorities will change in the context of strategic and department priorities.
Duties responsibilities To carry out maintenance and repairs where required to the facility within set timescales Duties will include various low level building maintenance tasks, including carpentry, basic plumbing, painting, general building work and facilities management. Good housekeeping of all areas including litter picking and general day to day upkeep of the site Tidying up after finishing a job Assisting other team members with the day-to-day and planned general and specific maintenance and porterage tasks as required and directed. Assisting the Maintenance team at Fratton Park for home games, which will include weekend and evening working Assisting the Cleaning team and security team as and when required to support the business need. Maintaining and repairing equipment within safe working limits and knowledge and competence. Ensuring that all works are conducted in line with risk assessments and relevant regulations including Working at Height, COSSH, and Manual Handling Attending and participating in training events. Undertaking any other tasks and duties of similar responsibility and where necessary, deputise for other staff in their absence on holiday or sickness as directed.
