Surrey FA is recruiting a Football Development Apprentice to help deliver against a selection of key targets and objectives related to increasing player participation rates, supporting the development of the workforce (coaches and referees), improved facilities and investment, and recruitment of new members of our volunteer workforce from a diverse range of backgrounds.Any given week would see the apprentice working from our head office at the state-of-the-art Meadowbank Football stadium, delivering football sessions and supporting events and festivals across the season. A big part of this role will have a focus on working with designated community projects and grassroots football, which would see the apprentice allocated to a local club or provision to provide coaching, refereeing and/or admin support to grassroots youth clubs including the opportunity to undertake coaching or refereeing qualifications as part of apprenticeship development.We particularly welcome applicants from female, black, minority, ethnically diverse communities, disabled people and those from LGBTQIA+ communities, as they are currently underrepresented within our workforce.

Summary
Coach Core vision is to drive social mobility through apprenticeships and sport, so that every young person can reach their true potential and inspire those around them. Since our launch in 2012, we have worked with over 150 of the biggest sports providers, youth clubs and charities in the country, supporting over 500 young people. As a result of our ongoing expansion, we are now looking to launch a brand-new programme in Sussex!



At Surrey FA you will be working towards your Level 2 Community Activator Coach apprenticeship qualification over the course of 15 months.Day to day responsibilities:The Community Activator Coach role is the perfect opportunity to understand the role of sport and physical activity in the Community.The coach will learn about behaviour change to enable them to develop activities that will support each level of getting and keeping someone active.They will learn how to actively listen and respond to community group requests for activation.They will understand how to use effective leadership to deliver coaching sessions that are fun and engaging for the participants whilst understanding that they will become a role model and will need to display the correct behaviours.They will understand community events; the reasons that community events take place, how to plan and deliver them successfully to meet the aims of the group.They will learn about safeguarding, how to keep records and store information with personal details. They will understand the importance of monitoring and evaluating using this information and how it helps with future funding or future activities.Understand social media and the importance of getting the message right.We particularly welcome applicants from female, black, minority, ethnic (BME) communities, disabled people and homosexual, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities, as they are currently underrepresented within our workforce.The apprenticeship will enable successful candidates to start an unrivalled 15-month programme of learning, gaining meaningful qualifications and have full support and mentoring based on your individual needs. Successful applicants will be offered full time employment with a recognised physical activity or sports-based employer, earning a wage whilst also working towards the Level 2 Community Activator Coach qualification with Coach Core as well as a whole host of additional learning opportunities. In addition, whilst employed directly by one organisation, there will also be access to a range of events, training opportunities and other experiences through the other supportive employers.
