Job Description and Person SpecificationJob title: Disability (Cerebral Palsy) Facilitator/CoachReports to: Football Development ManagerJob purpose(s): Facilitate a new weekly recreational football session specifically for adults with cerebral palsy. The coach will be responsible for planning and delivering, as well as providing registers from the sessions.Direct reports: N/ALocation: Remote; Leisure United – Parsloes Park, Parsloes Avenue, Dagenham RM9 5NTWorking hours: 1 hour per week; scheduled for Thursdays, 18:00-19:00Contract type: Casual Worker
Responsibilities

Deliver and grow a recreational, weekly, impairment-specific football session for adults with cerebral palsy in North-East London, commencing in January/February 2024.
Ensure all sessions are planned and delivered in a safe environment with suitable equipment adopted, including the possession and use (as necessary) of a first aid kit.
Build a fun, open and trusting environment, that will support players and encourage them to flourish.
Listen to, consult, and utilise the feedback from participants to enhance their playing experience.
Consistently display a positive, encouraging, and professional image.
Encourage engagement and wider promotion to maximise and sustain the opportunity for participants.
Maintain a regular weekly register and provide this to the Amateur Football Alliance.
Build and sustain relationships with relevant stakeholders, including both Amateur Football Alliance and venue staff, parents and carers of participants and other third-party organisations.
Contribute to ensuring that safeguarding and equality are embedded throughout the Amateur Football Alliance and grassroots football.


Person Specification
Qualifications - Essential

Possess at least The FA Introduction to Coaching Footballers (or equivalent) qualification.
Possess an in-date FA Introduction to First Aid in Football qualification.
Possess an in-date FA Safeguarding Children Course qualification.

Qualifications - Desirable

Possess The FA Coaching Disabled Footballers qualification.
Possess The FA Safeguarding Adults qualification.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours - Essential

Experience of coaching football to disabled participants.
Ability to plan and deliver fun, engaging sessions that motivate and enthuse players.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Exceptional customer service in building trust and developing effective working relationships.
An understanding of the challenges and barriers that disabled players can face.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, dependable and committed.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours - Desirable

Experience of working with players with cerebral palsy.
At least 2 years of coaching experience.
Knowledge of The FA's Gameplan for Disability Football; Football Your Way.
A working knowledge of inclusion, equality, anti-discrimination, and safeguarding.
