Role description

We are recruiting a First Team Strength & Conditioning Coach to join the team and assist in the implementation of an athletic development programme, help develop the delivery of the sport science model and provide support to our Physiotherapists in the rehabilitation of players with long-term injuries.

This is a great opportunity for a S&C Coach with the relevant skillset and experience to join our unique club that is celebrating 20 years of Supporter Trust ownership this year. Based at our recently redeveloped Cliff Hill Training Ground facility the successful candidate will join the team on a full-time basis as we embark on a new season and continue to build on our League 1 success.

As 1st Team Strength & Conditioning Coach the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering of on-pitch athletic development sessions to players, providing pre and post-training strength and conditioning programmes and assisting in the rehabilitation and conditioning of players with long-term injuries.

Candidates should have experience in the design, implementation and monitoring of programmes for professional athletes at an elite level. Knowledge and application of GPS Systems within football is essential as the S&C Coach will be assisting in the rehabilitation and conditioning of players with long-term injuries and collecting and reporting on the monitoring of training load through GPS, HR, Wellbeing and performance and fatigue testing.

A degree in the field of Sports Science and/or Strength & Conditioning (MSc preferred) and being accredited with the UKSCA (or ability to achieve within 6 months) is essential as is a positive and productive work ethic. Candidates must have excellent communication, IT skills and an ability to build professional working relationships. Experience of working within professional football as part of a multi-disciplinary team would be beneficial.
