Sheffield United Football Club are seeking an experienced Set Play Analyst to join our First team Staff. This exciting opportunity involves collaborating closely with the department to ensure efficient delivery of Performance Analysis services.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for aiding in the delivery of high-quality analysis and tactical insights to the First Team staff and players. You will play a pivotal role in creating first-rate Set Play insights through exploration of large video content and data.
Role Responsibilities:
✓To lead on Set Play provision, providing detailed feedback to the Manager, Coaching Staff and Players.✓To tailor the delivery of feedback and make it specific to the team, units & individuals.✓To interpret data, carry out statistical analysis & produce visual & interactive reports for greater insights of performance.✓Carry out databasing in line with the club's playing philosophy for best practice.✓To contribute to & lead on longitudinal projects looking at successful set play trends worldwide.✓To contribute to & lead on any other adhoc tasks requested from within the Analysis Department or from Coaching Staff.✓To remain informed on the advances and progressions within Performance Analysis, sharing such developments with the wider team to ensure best practice across the analysis department.✓Travel to home and away games as required.✓Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.

Essential Criteria for the role:
✓BSc Sports Science/Sport Performance Analysis (or relevant degree topic)✓Sufficient experience in Performance Analysis - specifically Set Plays - at an elite level of football✓Sufficient experience and competent in using coding and telestration software (SportsCode or Angles)✓Sufficient experience and competent in using online scouting and statistical platforms (Tableau, WyScout, Opta etc)✓The ability to motivate and engage the First Team squad and coaching staff✓Strong attention to detail, good organisational and communication skills✓Self-motivated and committed to professional development
Desirable Criteria for the role:
✓MSc Sports Science/Sport Performance Analysis (or relevant degree topic)
