JOB PURPOSE
To provide comprehensive assessments on players who may be of interest to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
Responsibility of assessing players within games both domestically & internationally,.
Ability to make detailed and evidence-based recommendations on an ongoing basis.
The role will involve both working from home and working from the Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Regularly attend live games, both domestically and internationally, to assess players and report on them using bespoke scouting templates which are specific to the recruitment needs of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
Complete reports on players consistently and in a timely fashion to ensure the quality & consistency of ongoing assessments.
Effectively utilize available data to make holistic and evidence-based recommendations regarding potential target players in line with our style of play & the composition of both our First Team & U21 squads at the time of assessment.
Liaise with the Chief Scout to identify, review, monitor and report on target teams and players to support the club’s overarching recruitment strategy (both First Team & Emerging Talent).
Compile and regularly update position specific shortlists in line with the recruitment demands at that time.
Assess players on video with the same enthusiasm and to the same detail and quality as when watching them play live in a stadium.
Contribute meaningfully throughout the scouting process (identification, assessment, recommendation).
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
A minimum of 3 years experience working in a scouting capacity within a professional football environment.
Demonstrates an ability to contextualize multiple factors associated with a player’s performance in order to make reliable & coherent overarching player recommendations.
IT literate and has significant experience of using scouting systems such as ISF, Provision, Wyscout.
Has comprehensive & up to date knowledge of both domestic and European competitions that are of specific relevance to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
Embodies a strong work ethic and is proactive in formulating the most efficient and prioritized fixture schedules in relation to the specific recruitment demands at that time.
Can read the times of the season & understands urgency and can prioritize the work of themselves and others (where applicable) to meet deadlines.
Excellent technical understanding and application.
Naturally inquisitive with a passion for innovation, creativity & for generating new knowledge about players.
