Role Title: First Team Operations Manager

Reports to: Senior Operations Manager

Division: Manchester City Women

Department: Manchester City Women

Role specific purpose:



The role holder will be responsible supporting the Senior Operations Manager in the delivery of all first team women’s football operations across all Domestic, European, ‘Friendly’ and Wembley based games, co-ordinating the planning, procurement and execution of all operational requirements.



The primary responsibilities will be focused on travel logistics, including site visits, advance travel, rooming lists (home and away), hotel documentation, transport plan, airport and train procedures, as well as the production of travel briefs and flight manifests for all key departments.



They will also act as primary support for the annual pre-season tour, ensuring the same high standards of delivery are maintained through its planning and execution



Role specific accountabilities:

Determine and deliver the exact needs of the Customer; ensure the customer’s needs are fully understood and translated into effective operational plans. Offer alternative solutions where necessary and providing timely delivery within budget and to the standard required.

Manage co-ordination and communication of key information; appropriate information sharing and requests for information with exceptional customer service delivery at the heart of every message, e.g. team scheduling and supporting with creation of event briefs and itineraries for all non-Football customers.

Maintain project plans where necessary for each football event; support the Football Management/Operations team meetings, any formal governance, agenda setting, preparation, action tracking, KPIs collation etc

Understand and manage risk/compliance requirements; support the Senior Operations Manager in ensuring that the team abides by regulations and activities in scope and is compliant at all times (e.g FA and UEFA regulations)

Champion continuous process improvement; drive operational efficiency and effectiveness by identifying opportunities for improvement in processes and ways of working, establishing measurement and KPIs where relevant.

Manage Team Whereabouts information; provide accurate information about Team and Player whereabouts ensuring all the club obligations in terms of anti-doping whereabouts are met.

Manage and co-ordinate the ad-hoc day-to-day operational needs of the players and staff group as required.



Role specific knowledge, skills and experience:

Essential:

Previous experience within operations, logistics or travel coordination.
Extremely flexible and able to work within
the demands of a 24/7 operation, with extensive travel.

Strongly focused on providing an excellent customer service/experience.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
A team player, helps create team spirit.
Develops and delivers practical solutions to problems, takes action when seeing an opportunity to ‘add value’.
Desirable:

Experience of working in Football or Sports orientated Operations role
Experience of working in a high performance environment
