Reporting organizationally to the Chief Strategy & Planning Officer, the Planning and Integration Executive Director is responsible for coordinating the operational planning of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in alignment with FIFA, FIFA26 Inc. and the Host Cities and providing project management support across all functional areas, The Planning and Integration Executive Director defines and manages the pre-Tournament and Tournament time governance including the internal and cross-partner integration forums. The role is also responsible for risk management, functional area operational planning, clients' experience and operational readiness activities, including testing and exercising. The scope of this role includes planning and integration functions across the subsidiaries in Canada, Mexico and the USA and the FIFA Venue teams in the 16 host cities.The main responsibilities of the Planning and Integration Executive Director for the FIFA World Cup 2026 include:
Play a key role in the recruitment and training of a Planning and Integration team, in USA, CAN, MEX and FIFA Venue Teams.
Be the custodian of the processes and standards for Project Management within FIFA 26 Inc.
Provide the structure and management required to project manage through the planning, readiness, implementation, operational and closure phases.
Set the path by defining the high-level operational planning roadmap
Play an important role in supporting the agreement process between functional areas on operations scope through the definition of priorities for each client group and functional area in the iterative production of client and functional operating plans, policies and procedures and contingency plans
Manage the integration and coordination of all of the various clients' journeys
In alignment with FIFA World Cup 2026 planning cycles, work with operational teams, delivery partners, Host Cities etc. to organize a series of exercises aimed at confirming how infrastructure, systems, processes and people come together to deliver effective FWC operations
In alignment with FIFA, oversee the processes and standards for risk management which includes supporting all function areas in the identification, management and escalation of risks and issues
Design and implement a Concept of Operations which will facilitate effective communication, decision making, information flows and the resolution of issues during Tournament time
Support FIFA in the delivery of FIFA World Cup 2026 Knowledge Management program, which includes the Observer Program, Photo and Video Capture, Lessons Capture process, all relevant Debriefs, post Tournament Report etc.
Act as a leading figure in the organization to foster a culture of partnership and collaboration, continuous learning to drive innovation, and empowerment
Provide reporting and updates to the Chief Strategy and Planning and senior leadership on progress and issues as required
Lead the ongoing review of the Planning and Integration budget, identifying possible operational and financial efficiencies.
