Since 1988, Everton in the Community has been at the forefront of social intervention across Merseyside, not afraid to tackle issues which others shied away from. We use the power of sport to motivate, educate and inspire people in our local communities to improve their life chances.
About the opportunity: We are a charity that is rated ‘best in class’ and we are now looking to expand our Board of Trustees, who will join us in ensuring our charity is fulfilling it’s purpose and acts in the best interests of Everton in the Community.
You will have the opportunity to provide support to our Everton in the Community CEO in leading the effective execution of the charity’s organisational strategy and operation of services, consistent with our mission, vision, and values we hold close across not only our charity but across the whole of the Everton Family.
Who are we are looking for: Essentially, we are looking for Trustee(s) who have experience of handling board level business matters, who have professional experiences within one or more of the following areas:
Project management / property development
Fundraising / commercial / revenue generation
PR and brand
What are we looking for from you as a Trustee?
Evidence of a sound understanding of the third sector
Ability to contribute as a non-executive to a broad range of board topics based on experience and intellect
Ability to think, plan and operate strategically
Leadership style – consensual, inspirational and firm
Ability to work closely with all key stakeholders
You will be part of a team and will have the opportunity to apply your unique skills and experience while learning from others.

This is a voluntary position adapted to the demands of your professional career.
The minimum commitment will be quarterly Board meetings and updates, however time for preparation and reading of minutes for meetings will be recommended.
