Our Organisation

The Football Association [The FA] is the not-for-profit governing body of football in England. It is responsible for promoting and developing every level of the game, from grassroots through to the professional game, and generates significant revenue to support investment into English football each year.

The FA oversees England international teams acrossmen's, women's, youth and disability football, as well as running the National League System and FA Competitions including the Emirates FA Cup, Barclays FA Women's Super League, FAWomen's Championship, and Vitality Women's FA Cup, and the world-class facilities of Wembley Stadium and St. George's Park,all with a purpose to Unite the Game and Inspire the Nation.




The Role

The Event Technical Manager will support thepreparation of events hosted at the iconic Wembley Stadium. Who will be working closelythe Facilities Management and operations teams to provide technical support, on and off Event days.

Our successful candidate must have a strong understandingof safe systems of work protocols and procedures, with ability to manage equipment and buildings in a sustainable and safe manner.



Key Accountabilities


Assist with building preparation in readiness for running major bowl events including coordination of Pre-Event Action Plan documentation.
With the Senior Event Technical Manager represent the FM team at pre/post event planning meetings and briefings, coordinate FM section of the event planning notes.
To ensure the pre-planning of event turnarounds and ensure the appropriate supervision levels for technical and contracted stadium personnel.
Represent the FM team in providing the highest levels of technical support and advice at all stages of event planning to include liaison with event managers, clients, local authority representatives and other relevant agencies both internal and external.
Audit the dilapidation process for major and special events.
Ensure all FM event related maintenance is carried out safely in accordance with manufactures recommendations, warranties, and industry best practice.
Executeadditional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.




What we are looking for

Essential:

Understanding of safe systems of work protocols and procedures,
Manage equipment and buildings in a sustainable and safe manner,
Audio Visual Experience,
Broadcast experience,
A proactive and systematic approach to problem solving,
Computer literate – MS Word, Excel, Outlook,
Ability to communicate at all levels,
Work flexibly in reflection of the event orientated requirements of the Stadium, including weekend and unsociable hours as dictated by the event calendar,
Document management experience,
Hands-on management experience,
Ability to compile clear and concise technical reports,
Ability to read and understand technical drawings.


Desirable:

Rigging qualification,
Awareness of electrical safety to current standards,
Experience in leisure or other place public assembly venue management,
BMS and HVAC understanding/experience,
Experience of major event turnarounds,
Working with pitch covering systems,
Mechanical engineering skills/experience,
Counter-balance fork lift truck licence/competency certificate,
CAD experience.

Please be aware that unless you are on ahomebased contract, your contract with The FA will specify a fixed location of either Wembley Stadium, St. George's Park or our Processing Centre.

We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.
