The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) is an MLS soccer club serving the greater Los Angeles area. LAFC is invested in the world’s game and Los Angeles, constructing and developing the 22,000 seat Banc of California Stadium and a top-flight training center on the campus of Cal-State Los Angeles.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Event Director oversees two Event Managers and provides guidance and support for events at Banc of California Stadium. This position is responsible for designating an Event Manager for each booked event including him or herself while managing internal and external client expectations. The successful individual will have several years of event management experience at a high-profile arena/stadium and possess a positive and optimistic attitude to lead and inspire other departments. This position will report directly to the General Manager of the Stadium.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversee and manage Events department to ensure proper execution for sporting events, concerts, and specialty shows in terms of operation, production, staffing, facilities presentation, parking, emergency services, food & beverage, engineering, broadcasting, media, and security.
Responsible for ensuring entire concert process and applicable departments are prepared and seamless day of show; including but not limited to BOH, FOH, ticketing/floor plans, equipment orders, catering, flooring, generators, light tests, stagehands, ingress/egress production and breakdown.
Lead weekly internal team meeting and other key information platforms to collect and communicate pertinent relative information to the wider team and find ways to improve overall team functionality.
Responsible for the creation and distribution of booking notices and event notes.
Serve as the primary contact with event promoter/producer and cross functioning teams to coordinate production needs from the facility for events this role is responsible for.
Works with various departments to collect the necessary information to establish an Event P&L for all events. Tracks trends closely to identify areas of potential savings and or improvements.
Manage and advance event expenses for show settlements and keep them within budgetary parameters.
Interface with local vendors and city entities (Exposition Park, LAPD, LAFD, DOT, Building & Safety, etc) on all permit requirements.
Organize and conduct production meetings that clearly communicate all event requirements and drive the goals and objectives of each assigned event.
Partner with Stadium Management to prepare and execute legal contracts with external clients for each event.
Works closely with General Manager and EVP of Booking to establish updated calendars.
Have a heightened awareness of the Guest Experience program and collaborate with other departments to ensure Club standards are exceeded.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College/ University required.
Minimum of 4-5 years experience in event management or related position within the sports/entertainment industry required, experience as an Event Manager preferred.
Previous supervisory experience of event staff.
Experience reading contracts and executing terms listed within.
Detail-oriented, driven self-motivator with a strong work ethic to get the job done.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in English - both verbal and written.
Must be able to work productively and successfully in a high stress and unstructured environment.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize focus as needed with frequent interruptions and changes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs - Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook, in AutoCAD is a plus.
Flexible work schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as the event calendar requires.
