Role description

Real Salt Lake is looking for a motivated individual looking to gain experience in the area of professional sports equipment management. The Equipment Management Intern will work closely with the Club and training staff to ensure a smooth and successful RSL & Monarchs season. This internship program runs from February to November. Having a thorough knowledge of the game and aspirations in sports management will be an asset in this position. The Equipment Management Intern must be available for all home games, along with any additional events assigned throughout the season.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Assists with the day-to-day management and preparation of equipment needs for players and staff.Organizes and prepares lockers to team standards.Helps coaching and medical staff deliver and set up equipment to/from the fields.Distributes and collects equipment on a daily basis. Performs daily laundry and locker room clean-up. Loads and unloads equipment trucks to and from trips.Coordinates inventory counts and performs the equipment orders under the directions of the Director of Equipment Management. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Capable of taking directions to complete assigned tasks.Must be self-motivated, organized, and have great attention to detailAble to work non-traditional hours and weekends in non-traditional settings, within a team atmosphereAble to work for the entirety of the 2023 seasonPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Understanding of the game of soccer. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 75 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions.
