Role description

The Scottish Football Association is the governing body for football in Scotland and is principally responsible for all regulatory features of the game, the development of the grassroots game, managing the Scotland teams and arranging The Scottish Cup and other domestic competitions.
In 2019, The Scottish FA achieved the prestigious Advanced standard within the Equality Framework for Sport, becoming the first UK Football Association to achieve the award and one of only a small number of National Governing Bodies within Scotland to hold the Advanced Standard. As we continue on our Diversity and Inclusion journey, we are seeking to appoint 2 Independent Advisors to join current members of the Equality Diversity Advisory Board in order to provide advice and guidance on all equality matters and overseeing the development and delivery of the Scottish FA Equality outcomes.
As an Independent Equality Diversity Advisory Board member you will offer advice on all matters of equality, and specifically on one or more of the UK Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics.
We are seeking expert candidates with significant knowledge or experience operating at a strategic level in either the private, public or third sectors; further information can be found within the Member Role profiles.
Advisory Board members serve on a voluntary basis for an initial period of two years. Meetings will take place quarterly at Hampden Park, Glasgow or virtually through video call, ideally during office hours with a requirement for occasional additional visits, events and meetings. The Scottish FA will reimburse travel expenses incurred to attend meetings on request.

Closing date for applications is 27thMay 2022.

The application phase will be followed by interviews around week commencing 6thJune, and successful candidates to attend first meeting in September 2022.
