Role description

Liverpool FC Foundation is offering an exciting opportunity for an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion expert to work closely with our Head of Partnerships to influence and drive the strategic direction of equality, diversity and inclusion at LFC Foundation which is the official charity for Liverpool Football Club. 
 
The role will oversee all aspects of EDI including supporting the development of our environment and sustainability work with an EDI lens. You will have excellent stakeholder management as this role involves working with all areas of the Foundation and engagement with the club. 
 
The role is full time, and you will be expected to be flexible with working hours. 
 
What will you be doing? 
 
Develop, activate and implement the LFC Foundation EDI strategy in conjunction with the Clubs “Red Together” strategy.   
Work with LFC and LFCF staff on the development of the ‘Red Way’ strategy which encompasses our environmental, social and governance work. 
Support the submission and collation of evidence for the Premier League Equality, Diversity and EDI standard as well as the Foundation’s submission of the Capability Code of Practice which is the Premier League governance framework. 
To be an active and collaborative member of the Foundation’s Senior Management Team and ensure departmental needs are achieved, prioritised, and fully integrated within the overarching Foundation business plan    
Embed a culture of inclusive practice, including writing and delivering training both internally and externally  
To continuously evaluate the validity, success and impact of the Foundation’s strategy in relation to EDI and sustainability to ensure synergy with the clubs “Red Way” and “Red Together” strategies 
Keep abreast with regional, national and international insights and thought leaders related to all key areas of EDI and relate them to the Foundation EDI strategy 
To develop our EDI work to become leaders in the sector, raising the profile by delivering at conferences and national and international events  
Lead on all EDI related governance and accessibility audits  
Collaborate with the Impacts, HR and Recruitment teams to create a workforce strategy which delivers targeted, data driven improvements in the diversity of the Foundation’s workforce 
Sit on all relevant steering groups both internally and externally    
Stakeholder management with all local, national and international partners    
To represent the Foundation on all aspects of EDI at events both internally and externally 
Work closely with the LFC supporters’ groups to deliver on the Red Together strategy 
Ensure LFC Foundation quality and safeguarding standards are achieved and maintained at all times    
To support with LFC Foundation programme development across all delivery areas   
To ensure compliance with all relevant LFC Foundation policies, including health and safety policies and safeguarding   
To ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements   
To build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, maintaining a professional image at all times when representing the LFC Foundation and Liverpool Football Club 
To keep confidential any information gained regarding the LFC Foundation and its personnel    
   
Who are we looking for: 
  
It’s vital the successful candidate has the experience working within EDI at a senior level with experience of writing EDI strategies and has a passionate and empathetic approach to their work. A good knowledge of inclusion in a community setting and an unquestionable passion of working with children and vulnerable adults. 
 
This role will involve building excellent working relationships and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Possessing excellent verbal, written and presentation skills is essential for the successful candidate as well as having line management experience and skills. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent. 
 
We’re committed to safeguarding young people, so the candidate must also have a level 1 (or higher) qualification in safeguarding young people, and a strong understanding of good safeguarding practices.

This is a full-time contract role working 35 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days with evening and some weekend work required. This role is based in the Anfield Sports and Community Centre in Liverpool; however, the post holder will be required to work from other locations across Merseyside.
