Role description

Voluntary position for an initial term of up to 24 monthsApproximately four meetings per year (on average a yearly time commitment of 10 hours)
At Huddersfield Town AFC, we have a zero-tolerance policy towards abuse, discrimination, bullying, and harassment and we are committed to ensuring that we address any reported allegations in accordance with the Clubs procedures.
In 2019, we created an independent advisory group comprising people from different backgrounds who have an interest in projects and initiatives related to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). The group members have provided objective feedback and challenge on our practices to help us determine priorities and to focus on the outcomes that will have the most impact in terms of being representative and inclusive of the people who live and work in Kirklees.
We would now like to expand and diversify our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion External Advisory Group, to ensure that we continually obtain fresh perspectives and insights to our inclusion work and channel our efforts and energies to maximum benefit for the communities that we serve.
If you are interested in helping to facilitate our equality, diversity, and inclusion aspirations, we would love to hear from you. Applicants do not need to have specific qualifications or experience; we are looking for people who reflect the diverse community of Kirklees and who can offer us an impartial view to help us ensure our culture and environment are welcoming and inclusive of everyone.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the next phase of delivering our ‘Terriers Together Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Strategy and to help us foster greater community cohesion through the power of sport.
We appreciate that your time is precious, and we do not want to take advantage of you giving your time voluntarily. We anticipate a time commitment of approximately four meetings per year, of up to two hours duration each, plus preparation time for each meeting (reading any associated papers etc.).
If you would like to apply to join the group, please email us with a brief covering letter detailing your reasons for applying, and what you think you could contribute. Please also submit your CV if you have one.
