Role description
Hull City Football Club is looking for an enthusiastic Disability Supporter Liaison Officer to help ensure we can offer inclusive, accessible facilities across the club; enhancing the fan experience, whilst promoting first class customer service in a warm, polite and positive manner. We’re looking for someone who is proactive and always looking to go that extra mile for our supporters.
The ideal candidate will have an approachable friendly and caring personality with the ability to listen and communicate effectively.
Location: MKM Stadium, Walton Street, Hull
Salary: £22,000 - £26,000 PA (pro rata) – depending on experience
Contract: Part time, permanent – up to 10 hours per week, with the requirement to work match days both home & away, which typically fall on weekends and evenings
Your key responsibilities
· Promote the needs of disabled people to the club and “champion” disability issues and the business benefits of creating an inclusive and accessible stadium
· You will play a key role in devising a best-in-class 12-month supporter communication plan and implement same, working closely with the Head of Marketing, act as key stakeholder in external relationships with supporter groups, relevant EFL supporter facing personnel and all counterparts at fellow EFL clubs.
· You will also work to enhance & develop the matchday experience for all supporters at the MKM Stadium.
· Be the main point of contact between the football club, its disabled supporters, staff and players and ensure that their access requirements are met.
What are we looking for?
· A pro-active approach to the planning of multiple tasks and excellent organisational skills.
· Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, under the pressure of a public profile.
· Able to work on home and away matchdays (including evenings) and at other supporter attended events outside of normal office hours
· Able to communicate with a wide range of key stakeholders, including senior management, local disability groups and differently disabled people
· Have an understanding of disability legislation and providing an accessible stadium and club premises (i.e. accessible facilities and services for disabled spectators, visitors, staff and players on both match and non-match days
· Stay up to date with existing legislation including the Equality Act 2010, accessible stadia guidance and new legislation.
· To work closely with the Club’s Safety Officer and Head of Safeguarding to create a positive safe environment for all
· You will have a shared responsibility for monitoring and ensuring the safeguarding of children, young people and adults at risk on a match day.
· To work as part of the match day team of Designated Safeguarding Officers.
· Hold a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in the workplace and a willingness to undertake all relevant equality, diversity and inclusion training, in addition to ensuring compliance with all Club policies.
· Ensure that the Club meets its statutory duties under the Equality Act 2010.
· To work as an active member of the Club’s EDI steering group to create a sport that is inclusive for all.
· To support activities in the Club’s EDI strategy.
· Promote the Hull City’s brand, values, ethos and culture in a professional, strong and positive manner.
