ROLE DESCRIPTION

NJ/NY Gotham FC (“Gotham FC” or “the Club”) is a National Women’s Soccer League (“NWSL”) team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ.The Role: Gotham FC is seeking an experienced Director of Team Operations to provide administrative, analytical, and strategic support for its Soccer Operations leadership, players, coaches, and the Soccer Operations department in its entirety, all in accordance with Gotham FC and NWSL rules and regulations. This role will oversee all day-to-day operations of the Club’s soccer operations and will work closely with the General Manager and Head Coach to meet all business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Directly manage, coordinate, and safeguard all player and coach (and Club leadership/ownership, as needed) travel, meal logistics, matchday/match preparation, and equipment needs in accordance with League/Club guidelines and commercial partner mandatesProvide a consistent range of support to player/player families (and coach/coach families) as player (and coaches) assimilate in geographical market during their tenure as members of the ClubAssist with the collaboration and exchange of information between Soccer Operations and Business OperationsAssist the General Manager in their course of supporting Club leadership in the formation of Soccer Operation plansAssist the General Manager with enforcing Club Rules and League Rules applicable to Club players and/or coaching staffOversee relationships with external vendors in the soccer operations department (Teamworks, Wyscout, etc.)Oversee the Player Visa process for new and current players and maintain working relationship with immigration lawyer and their contactsServe as the leader of the Soccer Operations department, managing multiple direct reports, ensuring their performance meets Club standards and providing mentorship and managementOversee Soccer Operations department spending, ensuring compliance with budget targetsOversee management of Gotham FC facilities, ensuring all projects are completed in a timely manner to a high standard of execution and all supply needs are metOther responsibilities, as assignedQualifications: B.A./B.S., or equivalent work experience in an administrative or operational role.3-5 years’ experience working for a professional sports team3-5 years’ experience supervising direct reports in a positive environment with the proven ability to lead with integrity and efficiencySpanish/English bilingual skills are preferredProficiency in Google Suites applications and preferred high proficiency in Google Sheets and PowerPointKnowledge of current industry technologies and commitment to remain up to date with best practices in the fieldAn outstanding work ethic with an eye for detail, and extremely well organizedThe ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs The ability to remain on your feet and stand comfortably for several hours at a timeLegally authorized to work in the United States Capability & Other Characteristics:Experience collaborating with other departments and a demonstrated ability to identify and resourcefully meet their diverse needsAbility to problem solve through complex situations while maintaining a professional demeanor, and ability to pivot when neededAbility to remain optimistic and open minded when possible barriers ariseStrong communication skills, both orally and written, with diverse audiencesHigh level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential informationDemonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervisionAbility to build strong professional, genuine connection with others Ability to anticipate needs and prevent issues proactively, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor in highly complex and stressful situationsAbility to resolve conflict, expertly finding collaborative solutions to complex issues with multiple stakeholdersWillingness and ability to work long hours, including weekend and eveningsWillingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for trainings, games, and other required events Location: This position is fully in-person, based at Gotham FC’s soccer operations office and practice facility, currently located in Whippany, New Jersey. The person must be able and willing to attend all Gotham FC home games, away games and other business-related travel.
