Location: St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton with up to 40% home working as standard.
Hours: Full time, core hours 08:00-16:00 Mon-Fri, with flexible start/finish times if needed.
              Due to the nature of the role, some weekend and evening work is required.
Contract Type: Permanent

What will you be doing?
The Director of IT is a key leadership position accountable for all IT Services at Southampton Football Club and the strategic direction of the department.
 
This role is responsible for the effective and efficient operational support of all third-party and internally managed IT infrastructure used to support all business processes across the Club. 
As Director of IT, you’ll be an integral part of the Club’s senior management team, helping to drive the strategic direction of the wider organisation and the broader aims of that team.
Specific responsibilities include:
Development and execution of the IT department strategy.
Be a proactive member of the senior management team to steer, develop and implement the Club’s strategy and vision.
Be an engaged member of the project management team, ensuring IT requirements remain at the forefront of project planning and decision making.
Ensure IT operational service management processes are embedded so that quality, efficiency, productivity and agility goals are achieved.
Ensure maximum availability of IT systems throughout the Company.
Responsible for the provision of IT infrastructure services including desktop applications, local and/or wide area networks, IT security and telecommunications.
Ensure development and implementation of new Club IT systems as and when approved.
Manage the IT department including staff performance development appraisals, pay reviews and clear career development plans.
Responsible for IT hardware, software and maintenance procurement.
Responsible for supplier management and contract management.
Responsible for the Club’s cyber security policy and implementation.
Manage the IT budget so that all services are delivered cost effectively.
Promote best practices and train Club personnel to maximize benefit from the company’s investment in IT.
 
 
Is this you?
We are looking for someone with experience of working in a similar role, where you have been able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and where strategy that has been implemented successfully.
 
You’ll be able to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and be comfortable working in a diverse technical environment with the ability to adapt to bespoke applications.
 
Candidates are expected to support match days on a rotation basis with the potential inclusion of supporting some larger events at evenings or weekends.  A Full UK Driving Licence and access to personal transport will be required for this role.
 
Person Specification:
·       Experience in enterprise IT infrastructure projects, planning, development, and operations.
·       Experience managing budgets.
·       Experience with vendor management / contract management.
·       Hold a ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation Undergraduate degree, or the equivalent industry relevant qualification.
Desirable Skills:
·       IT Service Management practices (ITIL), processes and systems.
·       Microsoft cloud services including Azure, 365, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive.
·       Windows end point, server and virtualisation systems.
·       Enterprise storage and back up.
·       Broad knowledge of enterprise network switching, routing, WiFi, and related technologies (including telecommunications).
·       Cyber security frameworks and protection protocols.
