Role description

Legion FC is seeking a creative, organized and driven individual who will be responsible for generating new corporate partnerships opportunities, as well as maintaining and adding value to existing sponsors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manage the sale of all Legion FC sponsorship assets including signage, broadcast, digital, social, print, onsite activation, promotions, grassroots programs and sponsor premium seating
Create and develop new partnerships by developing new sales leads, making cold calls, hosting meetings with corporate decision makers, giving dynamic sales presentations, and negotiating partnership terms
Cultivate new corporate partner relationships with Local, Regional and National brands to ensure sponsor revenue growth
Have a clear understanding of all sellable inventory and continuously work to evaluate current assets and define new sellable assets and opportunities to bring incremental revenue to Legion FC
Manage and maintain strong relationships with all current partners
Continually manage and update sales pipeline in company CRM to provide accurate, reliable information for sales forecasts
Develop written proposals for new business and upsells of existing business
Work closely with Legion FC Management, BJCC, and Community organizations to help identify new prospects
Assist in brainstorming of specific promotions, new inventory or platforms in an effort to provide custom opportunities for partners and drive new revenue
Handle special projects and strategic sales initiatives as directed by management
Achieve and exceed established sales goals and budgets


QUALIFICATIONS:

Outgoing, ambitious personality, a clear self-starter
Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills, including excellent presentation ability
Clear understanding of the partnership sales process: prospecting, needs analysis, proposal development, presentation skills, negotiation and contracting process
Ability to handle multiple customers with a high degree of detail against short deadlines
Understanding of brand, traditional media, digital and social media, and marketing concepts
Knowledge of the sports sponsorship industry landscape
Self-starter who can effectively initiate and complete projects
Ability to work independently when needed and collaboratively with other team departments
Bachelor’s degree required
2-5 years experience in media and/or sponsorship sales
Knowledge of Birmingham/Southeastern marketplace a plus
