Nature Of Work

The Director of Soccer Development is a position for assisting with major projects and business management efforts that are critical in achieving the long-term organizational objectives of the Colorado Rapids. This role will work with the technical leadership team in supporting the highest-impact initiatives . The Director of Soccer Development will also work cross-functionally with the sporting, commercial, and operational sides of the organization .

Examples Of Work Performed
Perform key qualitative and financial analyses for major projects, with the ability to create analytical insights, package those into effective communication, and use to inform key decisions
Oversee professional relationship with Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club to ensure Colorado Rapids’ organizational priorities are effectuated across the relationship
Manage partnership with University of Denver for MLS Next Pro team
Assist Senior Director of Community Relations with organizing and holding soccer clinics
Support cross-functional teams a nd senior executives to accomplish a broad range of strategic projects and objectives
Other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree
2+ years’ experience, preferably in sports/entertainment or at a strategy consulting firm
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire

Outstanding quantitative, financial, research, modeling, and problem-solving skills
Excellent project management skills
Proactive self-starter who can work independently and with ambiguity to drive towards set objectives
Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to apply learnings to create new opportunities
Strong work-ethic and positive attitude are essential
Strong professional presence, accountability, and ability to spot issues
Ability to multi-task and work with deadlines in fast-paced environment with attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically Word , Excel , and Power P oint
Ability to handle discreet or sensitive information in a professional manner
Interest and experience in competitive sports environment, soccer preferred
General understanding of MLS (Major League Soccer) and team structures preferred
Proficiency in f oreign l anguage- especially Spanish and/or Portuguese- preferred
Knowledge of local market preferred
$85,000 annually
