ROLE DESCRIPTION
Job Description:The North Carolina Football Club, owner and operator of two affiliated professional soccer teams, the North Carolina Courage (NWSL) and North Carolina FC (USL Championship), seeks a highly motivated, passionate, and driven individual to identify and develop new corporate sponsorships. This position is responsible for researching, identifying, developing, and closing new business. The role will support the SVP, Integrated Partnerships, to drive results while managing the day-to-day development, coaching, training, and supervision of the corporate partnership sales team. The individual who successfully meets the requirements below will work closely with key members of the partnership sales team and individuals across various other departments within the club to execute the strategic initiatives of each partnership. Payment Structure: Base Salary + Commissions Job Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day development, coaching, training, and supervision of the corporate partnership sales team. Research, prospect, and cultivate new business and corporate sponsor relationships for North Carolina FC and North Carolina Courage. Solicit a wide range of new business through prospecting, networking, data capture, referrals, and cold calling. Proactively generate sponsorship revenue to meet assigned sales goals by selling kit partnerships, stadium signage, social media, online/web inventory, broadcast inventory, corporate ticket packages, promotional items, and other sponsorship inventory as appropriate. Assist in maintaining and growing existing corporate sponsor relationships. Assist in identifying and pursuing strategically aligned corporate partner prospects. Monitor relevant market developments in the entertainment/sporting industry to stay on the front edge of opportunity and assist in growing the department’s efficiency. Analyze and understand current and potential customers’ objectives to develop tailored packages, capitalizing on the strengths that will meet or exceed those objectives. Work North Carolina FC and North Carolina Courage home matches.Create comprehensive proposals and presentations. Develop new and innovative sponsorship inventory and programming to assist revenue generation and meet corporate partner objectives. Attend community events, networking events, and business conferences. Meet and exceed all sales goals. Work with the ticketing department to cross-sell corporate accounts. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sports management, business, entrepreneurship, sales, or a related field. Minimum of 7+ years of corporate sponsorship sales in professional sports and knowledge of soccer preferred. A proven track record of sales success and meeting assigned goals. A proven track record in managing and training a corporate partnership sales team. Experience in business-to-business sales, creating proposals and presentations. Self-starter that can steadily pursue and close sales in a team environment. Excellent relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal skills. Superior attention to detail and customer service. Must have the ability to network and create relationships while working efficiently in a fast-paced sales environment. Must be a team player with a positive attitude and embrace a challenge. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint). Knowledge and passion for soccer are a plus.
