Digital Content Manager 
Wigan Athletic Football Club are looking to recruit a Digital Content Manager to join our Marketing, Media and Communications department. This role will report directly to the Head of Marketing, Media and Communications manager and be predominately based at the DW Stadium with local travel required.
The job purpose is to lead the club’s content and scheduling across the club’s website and social media channels and to work with the wider Media, Marketing and Communications team to deliver engaging digital media content
Working hours: 37.5 hours, 5 days over 7 with evening, weekend and bank-holidays required
Contract type: Permanent
You will:
 
•                     Manage the club’s website, identifying and publishing content, ensuring date-sensitive information is accurate and up-to-date.
•                     Oversee the club’s social media platforms, generating daily content and innovations aimed at driving traffic and new audiences.
•                     Create and publish engaging content and edit and improve writers’ posts across digital channels as well as proofing the Club’s official Matchday Programme.
•                     Work with the club’s streaming partners to ensure service is scheduled and maintained.
•                     Work closely with the club’s retail and commercial departments in producing content for Latics Store, Hospitality and wider-commercial partnership activations.
•                     Send matchday emails using the club’s email management platform, Mailchimp.
•                     Collaborate with the Community Trust Media Officer to plan and develop site and social media content.
•                     Attend all first team matches,  both home and away, ensuring the official club website and social media platforms deliver live content on match days which are both timely and accurate.
•                     Work with the Head of Media, Marketing & Communications to analyse data using social media analytic tools and reports to evaluate performance, adjusting content as required.
•                     Ensure all official statistics and the club’s photographic library are maintained.
•                     Assist with matchday accreditation for the attendance of visiting media at home matches and help request accreditation for away matches.
•                     Assist the Head of Media, Marketing and Communications with media enquiries and build positive relationships with the press.
•                     Use Photoshop to quickly edit templates to aid in the production of engaging imagery led content.
•                     Perform other duties as required by the Club.
The successful candidate will:
•                     Hold a Degree, preferably in media related subject
•                     Have previous Football Club media department work.
•                     Be familiar with content management systems.
•                     Have a proven track record of delivering social media content for large audiences.
•                     Have experience with football streaming services.
•                     Demonstrate accurate copywriting and proofing.
•                     Have the ability to interview and transcribe quickly.
•                     Demonstrate excellent IT proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel and Adobe Photoshop/Premiere Pro.
•                     Hold extensive and up-to the minute knowledge of football and issues surrounding the game.
•                     Have a professional manner and the drive to produce excellence at all times.
•                     Be hard-working and the commitment to work unsociable hours.
•                     The ability to thrive and not lose accuracy under pressure.
•                     Self-confidence and diplomacy when dealing with senior management, playing staff and key stakeholders.
•                     The ability to organise a diverse and pressurised workload often governed by deadlines.
•                     Be able to travel to different sites within the Wigan area
