An opportunity to join Arsenal's Digital Experience department at a hugely exciting time. With an increasing emphasis on digital engagement with our fans, the Data Insight Lead is critical to underpinning long lasting relationships with our global audience.
The Digital Experience department sits within our wider Commercial function, alongside four other departments: Venue, Partnerships, Retail Brand Marketing. Within the Digital Experience department there are three teams: Loyalty Membership, Campaign, Data Insight and Digital Product. These teams are responsible for working cross functionally across multiple channels to enhance our fans digital experience and maximise revenues. Our fans are the heartbeat of our Club, and data is the key to understanding how best to serve them. The job holder will oversee the Data and Insight team that are focused on delivering best in class insight to a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation. In addition to this, a crucial part of the role is to champion Data Management, Data Governance Data Quality across the business - ensuring that the foundations are in place to drive a deep level of understanding of our fans and their behaviours.
The job holder will be responsible for managing the creation, maintenance and delivery of dashboards and analysis across Commercial, Media Communications, working alongside various business areas within these functions for them to become truly insight driven and data enabled.
Maintain the integrity of the Clubs fan data
Oversee data reconciliations processes, and where exceptions are flagged, manage the investigation and remediation in a timely manner
Responsible for key data governance processes
Maintain and develop strategic data enrichment programs, utilising tools/methods such as market research, Cheetah Experiences, progressive profiling, and 3rd party data bureaus
Align the direction of the Data Insight team to the Club's overarching data strategy
Oversee the design, development going support of commercially sound visualisation dashboards for key business areas based on their strategic objectives
Work closely with Commercial, Media Communications functions to enable accurate measurement of KPIs and support the business to achieve performance objectives
Play a key role in the structure and movement of fan data, to ensure the insight delivered is accurate, and meaningful
Lead conversations that dictate the technical framework needed to continually develop the Business Intelligence function and how to further integrate across the wider business
Have responsibility to turn data into actionable insight and knowledge, using predictive and analytical solutions
Manage all analytical requests in line with the strategic objectives of the organisation
Perform analysis that explain fan behaviour and provide actionable insights for the business
Successfully blend commercial understanding with technical analytical skills
Perform ongoing reviews of assumptions/processes/models to ensure accuracy relevance of output
Engage with 3rd party suppliers, as appropriate, in the delivery of analysis to support the more complex business requirements
Be a leader in promoting a data driven approach
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure outputs meet business needs
Be an expert in Data Management, Business Intelligence and Analytical industry trends to challenge with confidence and conviction where needed
Work alongside Senior Campaign, Data Insight Manager and Finance Partner on business case creation for Club initiatives, as required
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education/Qualifications/Training:Business Intelligence (i.e. Tableau) Analytical Tools (i.e. FastStats)
Formal training in one or both of the below areas:
5/6 years insight/analytics experience in a fast-paced environment
3/4 years Business Intelligence experience in a fast-paced environment
2/3 years statistical data modelling experience (an advantage)
Strong Excel skills
Comfortable handling large data sets
Strong hands-on profiling skills
Strong hands-on modelling skills
Strong hands-on predictive modelling skills
Working knowledge of AI based analytics ML modelling
Good business understanding
Quick and proactive learner
Focused good attention to detail
40 hours, 5 days a week. Ability to work some weekends and bank holidays.
