The Club’s brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park.   The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.   Purpose of the JobThe Assistant Athletic Trainer assists the Head Athletic Trainer in managing the day-to-day sports medicine operations for the Houston Dash. In this capacity, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will provide injury prevention strategies, and evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate Player’s medical problems.   Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages Houston Dash player injury status. Manages organization of training room daily supplies and communicate needs to the Head Athletic Trainer. Travels with the First Team for away travel and matches. Tracks water and sports drink products at the training center and the stadium to maintain proper inventory for ordering. Monitors a daily and monthly cleaning list for the athletic training room. Maintains proper documentation for all treatments rendered. Assists the Head Athletic Trainer in all aspects of care and prevention of injuries for all players. Works in conjunction and communication with the Performance Staff daily. Assists the Head Athletic Trainer with any daily documentation on the treatment of the players. Assists with transportation of players to physician appointments if necessary. Other duties as assigned.  Qualification Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of Athletic Training since passing the BOC. Experience in soccer - preferred. Master’s degree or higher – preferred. Must be NATABOC certified and licensed in the State of Texas to practice Athletic Training. CPR certified in BLS. Maintain personal liability insurance. Maintains certifications with Texas Licensure, NATABOC, and BLS and update the Director of Sports Medicine on any changes. Must have ability to travel internationally. Available to work evenings, weekends, and Holidays Knowledge of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.  Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other AttributesExcellent team member, who always places the Club first. Dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. High standards of accountability. Respectful in their communication, empathy, and inclusiveness. Ability to work in a high stress and competitive environment. High level of confidence. Maintains a positive attitude to help the players succeed in their goals. Promotes Houston Dash culture and core values to players and staff.Maintains Organizational Core Competencies.  Organizational Core Competencies Accountable – Holds themselves (and when appropriate others) accountable for achieving goals and objectives.Collaborative – Works collaboratively with others to achieve organizational outcomes. Progressive – Open minded, accepting, creative, and innovative in approach. Values Driven – Being ethical in decision making and operating with professional integrity.Agile – Achieves personal and organizational success within a changing, dynamic and complex              environment.
