Role description

The Creative Director position supports the North Carolina Football Club, the parent organization of the North Carolina Courage (first-division women’s pro soccer team playing in the NWSL) and North Carolina FC (Championship league men’s pro soccer team playing in USL ). The Creative Director is responsible for strategizing, directing, and leading the creative vision for the North Carolina Football Club and NC Courage brands.    RESPONSIBILITIES: Take ownership of the NC Courage and NCFC brand identity.  Lead the organization's creative process encompassing design and video teams. Supervise all work completed by the creative team. Lead and mentor the creative team to ensure cohesive work is completed. Support and promote the club’s culture and act as a champion for supporting the club’s organizational goals. Participate in the production of content based on Club needs. Work in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications units to differentiate and best position the NC Courage and NCFC brands within the market. Collaborate cross-functionally with other internal partners such as Sponsorship and Ticketing to ensure Club goals are met and exceeded.Innovative approach and focus to help build on the momentum of both the NWSL and soccer nationally to better position our organization on a bigger stage.  Find creative and non-transactional ways to support partnerships and fulfill the growing business side of the organization. Lives and champions the Club values of Integrity, Community, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. Support business growth and ticket sales through creative campaigns. Other duties as assigned.   REQUIREMENTS: The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee in this position. The duties listed do not represent an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of a person in this position.  Bachelor's and University degrees in Design, Marketing, Graphic Design, Business, Communications, Advertising, Fine Arts, Communication, Computer, Education, and/or 3 + years of relevant experience in the field. Proficient in all forms of marketing including digital format. Understanding of the connection of club and community in the soccer world.  Must be resourceful and solution-oriented. Strong community-building skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively. Understanding of the soccer community and/or the Triangle Region of North Carolina  Strong communicator, able to talk/share internally and externally about the club and connection to the community. The ability to balance short-term wins against steady progress on the long-term vision. Well-developed teamwork, and coaching skills, with the ability to identify and grow talent. Desire to explore new marketing channels and committed to improvement and change. Highly motivated and proactive, always seeking solutions to problems. Organized and process-driven, with the ability to be flexible, change priorities, and handle multiple tasks. Conscientious, on time, with a positive attitude. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Very strong written and verbal English communication skills.  SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   Lead and direct the creative team to include content producers and graphic designers. We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
