Position Description

The Event Production Coordinator role will help bring U.S. Soccer’s brand and events to come to life through storytelling. As an Event Production Senior Coordinator, you will work with the Events Department, Brand, Marketing, and Corporate Partnerships teams on the production of the event (concept through to execution) aligned with U.S. Soccer’s brand and events strategies. The position will offer production experience that will expand your knowledge of all logistics of an event, offer vast networking opportunities within the live entertainment industry, and provide a unique opportunity to help establish soccer as the preeminent sport in the United States. Projects will include but not limited to U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Team games, FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, Concacaf events hosted by USSF, SheBelieves Cup, Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, National Soccer Hall of Fame Inductions, Annual General Meetings, and various other fan and special events throughout the country and abroad.

Primary Responsibilities

Produce world-class shows that align with U.S. Soccer’s brand narratives and achieve Federation objectives such as executing on corporate partnerships activations.
Work closely with Events and other departments (including but not limited to, Analytics, Brand, Broadcast / Media, Content, Corporate Partnerships, Fan Experience, Marketing, and Social Media) to produce events that further support the Federation’s programs and platforms.
Leverage fan insights to design shows that excite and engage fans in an effort to strengthen the brand in connection with our fans.
Develop and execute flexible show scripts that meet the needs of different control rooms across the country. Show scripts will need to contain information for each role within the production. Build, manage, and distribute match timelines and runs of show for each event.
Create, load, and test all LED and Video Board content within each show. Build content creation guides and playlists based on the script, run of show, and ad schedules developed in collaboration with our Brand and Corporate Partnerships teams.
Show calling is an essential part of this role. Will need to be able to communicate and manage different teams from different control rooms across the country. Need to manage control rooms and game presentation staff that could total up to 100+ individuals.
Develop, manage, and execute all contracts and budgets related to Event Production.
Build and manage an extensive network of vendors and talent across the industry and around the country. Will need to negotiate and book vendors/talent that includes but not limited to artists, musicians, DJs, emcees/hosts, PA Announcers, voiceover artists, pyrotechnics and special fx companies, staging / AV companies, military, animators, and large scale presentation elements.
Research and share inspiration, best practices, and unique creative ideas from the sport and other industries.


Minimum Qualifications

Experience with show calling, managing a control room/talent and large groups, and/or show scripting for a live events environment.
Strong understanding of video board and LED graphics, acceptable formats for load-in, building content creation guides, and building playlists.
Need to have working understanding of various content management systems for videos, audio and animated content.
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, After Effects, and Media Encoder.
Proficient with Shoflo, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Keynote.
Experience with building and managing a production budget.
Ability to understand/follow creative direction and incorporate constructive feedback.
Strong time management skills and ability to work within strict deadlines and quick turnarounds.
Highly creative and willingness to contribute innovative ideas/thinking
Has a pulse on the trends within the live entertainment industry
Must be comfortable with traveling
Must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful work environment.

Desired Qualifications

Poses a desire to working in the unique space of athletics and live event production as a career
Proficient with Apple/ Mac operating systems and equipment
Familiar with the soccer landscape
Experience with managing vendors such as pyrotechnics and special fx companies, musicians, artists, and emcees.
