Purpose
Established in 1986, City in the Community is the registered charity of Manchester City and exists to empower healthier lives through football. Our programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.
The purpose of the Community Outreach Manager is to manage the day to day delivery of Community Outreach projects across Greater Manchester including Premier League Kicks, One City Disability, City Girls, Soccer Schools, 93:20 Volunteering, Military Vets and Walking Football whilst supporting City Football Foundation’s international delivery through the charity’s wider strategic aims
Accountabilities
Manage a team of Officers and Delivery Coaches to deliver a weekly programme of Community Outreach projects including school holiday provision across Greater Manchester, engaging participants across a wide range of ages, social backgrounds and abilities.
Create, maintain and develop relationships with internal partners from CITC and the wider City Football Group (CFG), external funders, local authorities and governing bodies to develop CITC’s reputation and reach, promoting all CITC programmes across Manchester (including PLCF, GMP, Kellogg’s, Nissan, MCR Active, Manchester Council)
Report on set outcomes associated with each programme to develop, maintain and grow a strong working relationship with the partner organisations. Manage quality, engagement and finance KPI’s associated with all programmes to ensure the team fulfill their reporting and other admin obligations as required.
Manage the overall Community Outreach strategy to meet the needs of the community and funding partners to ensure the long-term sustainability of the programme.
Regularly review individual performances within the team, providing structured feedback to assess, identify and provide training and CPD opportunities which continuously improves the standard of delivery and support on the programmes.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
Understanding of City in the Community Foundation, its projects and strategy.
Project Management experience of multiple and ongoing projects
In-dept knowledge of coaching community-based programmes, specifically around youth work, disability, female, holiday and volunteering provisions.
Solid experience of working in and liaising with schools, community organisations, facility partners, local government departments and external funding partners.
Experience of Budget Management
Experience of managing a team
Experience and knowledge of working within a brand environment and understanding the responsibilities that are associated with representing a Premier League Football Club
GCSEs in English, Maths and Science
Competent across Microsoft office
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Creative and passionate about continuous improvement
Resilient and adaptable to change
Excellent and inclusive team-working abilities
Desirable
Degree level education
Coaching Level 2 qualification in one other relevant sport.
Knowledge and experience of Youth Work theories and practise.
Specific knowledge of mentoring, youth engagement and/or disability/Girls programmes
Remote line management
Presentation skills
Experience of delivering CPD sessions for wider team
