Role description

Wigan Athletic Community Trust is recruiting for a Community Media Officer to promote its award-winning work that helps to improve health, enhance life chances, and create stronger communities in Wigan and the surrounding area.
Working as part of Wigan AthleticMedia and Communications team this role will also play an integral role in showcasing other initiatives organised by the club including their support for other charities and their equality and diversity work. This opportunity would be ideal for a creative writer with experience of using innovative video and audio content to positively promote a charity organisation.
Salary: 25,000 per annum
Contract:Full time, Permanent.
Hours of work: Working 37.5 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays and all Wigan Athletic home fixtures
You will:

Publicise the work of the Community Trust and the Football Clubsupport for other good causes using the clubofficial media platforms and external media
Contribute to the clubcommunications strategy to ensure that the work of the Community Trust and other good causes are a prominent feature and priority
Liaise with key club staff to organise regular first team and academy player appearances at club community events
Work with the Head of Community to create an annual communications and event plan.
Plan and attend Community Trust events to generate digital content
Maintain and enhance the Community Trustsocial media presence, in conjunction with the clubofficial social media platforms
Film, edit and upload video footage for use within the club and Community Trustdigital platforms
Attend all Wigan Athletic first team home fixtures to promote the work of the Community Trust and other Club initiatives.

You will:

GCSE English grade A to C (or equivalent)
Proven experience of using video, photo and audio equipment to produce creative and innovative content
Experience of filming with high spec HD camera equipment
Experience of using a variety of social media platforms to deliver key messages and measurable outcomes
The ability to write accurately and concisely
The ability to travel independently to from different club locations and events.
Self-confidence and ability to work accurately under pressure
Ability to use own creative initiative but also work well within different teams and settings
Ability to prioritise workload
