Job Summary
We are looking for a highly-motivated and passionate Community Development Officer toplay a pivotal role in developing and delivering a successful programme across all of the Palace for Life areas. You will work in a flexible way across the week to ensure all sessions are covered, including weekend sessions that are vital to the aims of the programme.

Job Description:
As Community Development Officer you will:

Increase participation within Premier League Kicks and Get Involved sessions (includes football and multisport activities);
Plan and deliver football sessions within a school and community environment in order to engage participants in the programme;
Plan and deliver football festivals, tournaments and school holiday activities;
Plan and deliver school assemblies and community roadshow activities;
Plan and deliver workshops within the Kicks programme;
Coordinate and deliver our volunteer programme across the community engagement team;
Build and support relationships with external partners who deliver multisport activities;
Provide advice, guidance and support to vulnerable young people, which may include mentoring and training to increase awareness and promote positive action;
Report to the Community Sports Manager on the achievement of a series of key performance indicators and general updates for each programme;
Liaise regularly with other Officers within the Foundation including Primary Schools, Community Development, Interventions, and Employability in order to share good practise and attend regular meetings to promote cross working at all times;
Quality assurance of sessions making sure the Foundation/Club’s safeguarding guidelines are in place and all compliance measures are enforced;
Liaise with the Communications Team on a regular basis to increase the profile of the programmes and seek new ways of attracting new participants through all social media outlets, creating case studies to measure the impact of the programmes;
Create good links between schools and grassroots teams across Croydon, Bromley and Sutton.

Person Specification:
As successful candidate you will:

Have knowledge and experience of sports development and project/event management, with a proven track record of achievement;
Possess a sport specific coaching qualification;
Have experience coaching within a football environment;
Have a passion in developing participation;
Have experience of delivering or coordinating projects which seek to increase participation;
Have knowledge of safeguarding reporting processes and procedures, and be able to recognise safeguarding concerns and report appropriately;
Have experience of working to tight deadlines without close supervision;
Be self-motivated and able to work well within a team;
Have excellent communication/presentation skills both written and verbal;
Be able to manage partnerships effectively and concisely so that external partners are satisfied with our work;
Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels within the Foundation, the parent club and high level outside contacts;
Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint & Excel;
Have a 'can do' attitude, and a willingness to work flexible hours (including evenings and weekends) in order to get the job done.
