The Purpose

Manchester United Foundation believes every young person should feel empowered to achieve their goals and uses the power of football and Manchester United to support young people to make positive choices in their live.

Working in partnership with Kingsway Park High School the role’s purpose is to:

Manage both school’s sports facilities and oversee the academy lettings.
Drive sustainable community links and partnerships.
Be creative and innovative to develop strong local relationship and maximise academy income.

For Example

The role will involve three evenings and weekend work:

Evening 1 2.30-10pm 7 hours

Evening 2 2.30-10pm 7 hours

Evening 3 2.30-10pm 7 hours

Weekday - working in the school 9.30-4.30pm 7.5 hours

Weekend (Sat or Sun) 8.30-4.30 6.5 hours

The Role

To ensure everything is done safely, fairly, effectively, and efficiently (strong governance).
Planning and delivering is to the best of standards (high quality).
To capture the success and impact of your work (monitoring and evaluation).
To be responsible to safeguard the welfare of children and adults at risk.
To ensure that enough income is generated to cover all costs, including salaries.
To manage all community sports facilities and cademy lettings.
To develop a bookings system for the facilities.
Liaising with local community groups to offer access to the school site and support for programmes already existing locally.
Liaising with external stakeholders to assist the school in any projects such as the Football Association, Football Foundation etc.
Liaising and attending local primary schools to promote KPHS.
Attending events such as transition evening, open evening, promoting both KPHS and connection with Manchester United.
Organising and evaluating staffing needs and presenting sustainable staffing plans and business cases to support the community offering.
Authorising and submitting staff forms for payment.
Ability to work flexible hours including late evenings (up to 10pm) at short notice, weekends, and holidays
To work collaboratively with local sports providers and local authority.
Developing and implementing the agreed brand vision.
Establishing and managing annual budgeting, ensuring monthly cost Centre reports, quarterly forecasts and budget planning are provided to the school.
To be the main point of contact for all out-of-school hours activities, and deal with any customer queries and complaints.
To work closely with the school PE department to coordinate extra-curricular activities around community bookings.
To oversee the mini-bus booking system including the management of documentation from drivers to ensure they are eligible to drive the vehicles.
To work closely with the school and arrange summer school and other events throughout the year in the holidays.

Role Specific

Knowledge

Working in a school environment and embedding itself in the local community

Experience

Working within a team and building relationships with external partners
Practical experience of working with young people.
Scoping, delivering, and evaluating a range of programmes.
Multi-agency working approach
Previous experience of working within a sports or leisure facility (desirable)

Skills

The ability to lead people and build teams.
Strong with ICT.
Written and spoken communication skills.
The ability to work with young people with varying social skills and in positions of disadvantage.
Ability to engage with a range of stakeholders to achieve strategic and contractual objectives.

Qualification

Recognised coaching qualifications (Desirable).
Educated to degree, HND level or A level equivalent (Desirable)
