OverviewThe Premier League is proud to deliver unrivalled levels of support to the wider game and communities domestically and across the world. The Communities Team works with partners to: help develop Clubs and facilities, support a diverse football workforce, and deliver positive impact in communities.The interest in the Premier League globally has never been greater, with the successful Premier League Summer Series held in the USA an example of the growing engagement. Working in collaboration with other Premier League departments, international offices and a wide range of partners, the Communities Team is further developing plans to positively impact the game and communities in other countries around the world.To help deliver this exciting area of work, the Premier League is looking to appoint a Communities Manager – International. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of developing and managing partnerships and projects, an ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, and have highly developed organisation skills.The role will lead on the operational delivery of the Premier League international wider football and community work. This will entail coordinating the involvement of Premier League coach educators and Club staff, and working with partners in-country, most notably China, India, USA, Singapore and South Africa. The post-holder will also work closely with the Senior Communities Manager to develop future plans and evaluate the success of delivery. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong understanding of the countries in which the Premier League operates and frequent international travel will be involved.Who we areThe Premier League is home to some of the most competitive and compelling football in the world. These include organising the competition and its Handbook as well as managing the centralised broadcast and commercial rights. The work we do in conjunction with the Clubs also goes far beyond the 90 minutes. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.The role• Support the Senior Communities Manager to develop the international community plan• Manage the operational delivery and logistics of Premier League international community programmes, currently Premier League Primary Stars and Premier Skills• Work with other Premier League departments to deliver community and wider football activations in support of Premier League events, including pre-season tournaments and Premier League Mornings Live• Manage operational partnerships with the British Council and NGOs, ensuring quality assurance processes are in place to manage risk• Work closely with the Premier League Safeguarding team to implement effective procedures and practice to promote and protect the rights, safety and wellbeing of children and adults at risk involved in community events• Work with the Premier League Media and Commercial Departments, and international offices to ensure partners are engaged in community delivery• Work with the Corporate Affairs Team to ensure strong relationships with relevant UK Government departments, notably the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office• Develop a detailed understanding of Premier League Clubs’ international priorities, matching international delivery opportunities with appropriate Clubs wherever possible• Develop and manage a team of contractors, including Premier League Clubs’ staff, to deliver Premier League international community projects and events• Support other Premier League departments to develop and enhance relationships with international football bodies• Develop an up-to-date knowledge of domestic partners’ (for example, The FA and PGMOL) international work, identifying opportunities to collaborate• Work with Premier League departments and partners to ensure that international community projects are promoted, working with partners to provide suitable data and case studies• Work alongside Premier League departments and external agencies to develop overarching objectives and social impact measures for international programmes• Identify international opportunities that meet Premier League objectives, working with the Senior Communities Manager to develop proposals and initiatives• Provide support to the Premier League Communities Team as requiredRequirements for the role• Experience of developing and managing partnerships with external stakeholders within the government / policy / charitable / national or international football or sports bodies landscape• Experience in leading projects from initial concept to evaluating success• Experience and understanding of managing Safeguarding procedures, and able to demonstrate knowledge of how to promote and protect the rights, safety and wellbeing of children and adults at risk at events• Delivered written reports or proposals for consideration by senior management• Passionate about the role of football / sport in communities• Highly developed organisational skills• Strong interpersonal skills; confident, with the ability to interact well and build effective working relationships with people at all levels• Flexible and collaborative working approach• Resilient, calm and diplomatic• An understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion• Ability to prioritise and allocate time effectively across multiple work streams• A commitment to frequent international travel
