TITLE Communications Coordinator
REPORTS TO Director, Communications
LOCATION Ottawa
Canada Soccer is a leading National Sport Organization responsible for the growth and development of
the game of soccer in Canada. In collaboration with its Member Associations, Professional League and
Club Members, Canada Soccer works to promote the game from grassroots to high performance, and on
a national scale.
With its Women’s National Team having recently been crowned Olympic Champions, and its Men’s
National Team set to take the stage at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, Canada Soccer is poised for a
period of accelerated growth on the pathway to being a co-host of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ alongside
Mexico and United States.
The organization is presently seeking a Communications Coordinator to join its Marketing and Communications
Department in support of building Canada Soccer’s brand with a goal of growing the organization’s revenues for all
programs and events.

OVERVIEW
The Communications Coordinator will play a key role in the development and implementation of a proactive
internal and external communications plan for all Canada Soccer programs and events including National Teams,
competitions, coaching and referees. As part of an integrated marketing and communications team, the
Coordinator will be a key point of contact for all stakeholders including Canada Soccer membership, media and
broadcast.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Canada Soccer Communications Coordinator responsibilities will include:
• Support marketing and communications for all Canada Soccer programs and competitions including
National Teams, events, coaching and referees
• Manage the general media email account, including questions and answers via our website and other digital
platforms
• Support media requests and inquiries, including general email and phone requests for interviews and/or
background information
• Coordinate media outreach for Canada Soccer events including home matches and national competitions
• Coordinate virtual media conferences on platforms such as Zoom, including organisation, storage,
publication and distribution
• Coordinate media operations for Canada Soccer’s National Teams home matches as well as Canada Soccer’s
national competitions including the Canadian Championship, National Championships and Futsal Canadian
Championship
• Lead media operation planning including facility needs, accreditation and media volunteers
• Serve as central lead from headquarters for away media operations, including Concacaf and FIFA
competitions
• Manage media and stakeholder email distribution list on platforms including Mailchimp, including
maintenance and outreach efforts
• Serve as the editorial lead for Canada Soccer’s Annual Report, especially through December and January
period
• Provide editorial support throughout the year across Canada Soccer’s various digital channels
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES
• Strong knowledge and interest in Canada Soccer programs and competitions including National Teams,
events, coaching and referees
• Effective verbal communications including both English and French
• Effective written and digital media communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work above and beyond expectations
• Ability to identify, analyze issues and to recommend and implement solutions
• Acute attention to detail, and the capacity to work comfortably in a rapidly changing, fast-paced
environment
• Thrive in a high-energy, collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Self-starter, able to learn new processes, programs and tools quickly
• Ability to change and adapt to current and future responsibilities and circumstances
