Role Title: Communications and Charities Intern

Reports to: Head of Corporate Communications

Division: Corporate Services

Department: Communications

Closing Date for Applications: 9th May 2022

Duration of internship: 30th June 2022 - 1st July 2023

Role specific purpose:


To support the Communications Department with the delivery of various PR and communications activities during the season.

To respond to charitable requests in line with the Club’s charitable giving policy in addition to assisting in the coordination and delivery of wish-granting visits throughout the season.

Role specific accountabilities:


Manage the process of responding to charitable requests by mail and online for signed merchandise in line with the Club’s charitable giving policy.


Assist in the coordination and delivery of wish-granting visits throughout the season.


Assist the Communications Department with the delivery of corporate communications and stakeholder engagement activities.


Support the Communications Department in identifying opportunities for potential initiatives to enhance the reputation of Manchester City.


Proactively seek and create good news stories to share through Club channels both internally and externally.


Conduct media monitoring and generate coverage reports following Club announcements and events.

Role specific knowledge, skills and experience:


Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
Interest in a career in Communications and Public Relations
Outstanding communication skills; written and presentation skills
Team player who can adapt to work well across different teams and manage multiple stakeholders
Willing either to take the initiative or form a critical part of a larger team
Self-motivated and focused to work to own deadlines
