Role description

We are looking for the right candidate to join our Commercial Sales Team, focusing on revenue growth for Reading FC Women. The position will be reporting directly to the Club Head of Commercial with the additional support of the Women's Team General Manager. The Commercial Executive will be tasked with identifying new markets and business opportunities that will increase the revenue of Reading FC Women

Key Accountabilities

To be a brand ambassador to the local community increasing knowledge about the women's game
To have a good understanding of local/regional business (b2b) and business to customer (b2c) markets for all aspects of revenue generation from matchday and non-matchday opportunities
To build local busines knowledge and generate a personal network of b2b contacts
To prospect clients for new and future business leads via cold calling and email
To arrange meetings both on and off-site with potential customers to prospect for new business
To utilise the matchday operation to identify new, and maintain existing, business
To listen to customer requirements and present appropriately to make a sale
To negotiate the terms of an agreement and close sales
To maintain and develop relationships with existing customers in person, via telephone, emailsand all other forms of communication
To report sales to line manager
To work with line manager to identify business opportunities for commercial growth
To understand all aspects of the commercial business and become a team player in commercial budget delivery
To have a close working relationship with other departments to deliver overall club strategy
To attend team meetings and share best practice with colleagues
To carry out any other duties as directed by management, and any other reasonable requests as directed by management
There is an expectation that you will undertake adhoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks
To adhere to a strict code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to Reading Football Club and its operation

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS: Essential - degree educated in a relevant business or sports business field
EXPERIENCE: Essential - experience in a target driven sales environment; proven evidence of having hit sales targets; experience in a client-facing role, fostering positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; experience of preparing presentations and pitching to business decision makers. Desirable - understanding of sports business, especially sponsorship; history of working with sales pipeline CRM systems
KNOWLEDGE: Essential - A knowledge and passion for the sports and sponsorship industry
SKILLS: Essential - the ability to work independently and with initiative; excellent project, planning, organisational and time management skills with a high attention to detail; the confidence and capability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
ATTITUDE: Essential - resilience and adaptability to react to the demands of an ever-changing working environment; a can-do, proactive approach to working. Desirable - commercial creativity and not afraid to suggest new ideas
