Role description

To assist with the long-term vision of Norwich City Football Club and it’s Regional Development Programme (RDP) the Coach Recruitment & Development Officer will deliver and adhere to the set staff recruitment process to enable the organisation to expand & develop its workforce in line with company values and culture.

The role will hold responsibility of ensuring staff within the organisation are provided with the necessary requirements to begin their employment with us including onboarding, inductions, probation periods and regular support of coaching delivery and career pathways with an overall aim of ensuring that the quality of our coaching services improve, and staff feel valued and can progress.

A key part of the role will be to initially market and advertise roles which have been signed off by the senior leadership team for identified areas of the business.

The individual should be pro-active to develop staff support mechanisms, internal training programmes and have strong communication skills to work cross-departmentally for the benefit of the organisation, whilst understanding learning styles in both a business and sports background.

The Coach Recruitment & Development Officer will also be the lead Football & Education Coordinator at Bishop Laney.The Football & Education programme for 16-19 year old boys and girls, will be delivered in partnership with Bishop Laney Sixth Form College. The role will include delivering the set amount of football provision and fixtures across the week in line with their academic studies. Ensuring thorough planning and preparation whilst developing assessment tools to monitor the development of the students. The coordinator will report into the Football & Sport Education Officer and will deliver all recruitment activities, including open events, taster sessions and trials. It is the responsibility of the coordinator to ensure the coaching experience is of the highest standard whilst implementing and following all RDP health and safety, risk assessment and safeguarding guidelines whilst working alongside the education partner’s policies and procedures.

We have minimum qualification requirements for those who wish to be part of our RDP coaching team, however we will work with and develop the right people through our coach development programme and workforce strategy.

Minimum and desirable qualifications are:
Level 1/2 or higher in a specific sport
Teaching/ physical education qualfication
Emergency First Aid Certificate
Safeguarding Children Certificate

All RDP coaches will undertake our safer recruitment and induction process and an enhanced DBS disclosure check before delivering any sessions.
