The Head Coach will manage the WUFC House and Representative Travel streams under the direction of the Technical Director (TA) and Club Administrator (CA). The successful candidate will be an individual who can thrive in a community club environment and demonstrate a commitment to continuous program development while modelling leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities

Attend practices and games to provide assistance, feedback and guidance to coaches.
Oversee the Active Start and FUNdamental programs by communicating with age group directors, connecting with families and attending sessions in support.
Direct education and development opportunities for the club’s coaches.
Provide supportive feedback to coaches around practices and games.
Manage Northern Lights Academy including the Youth Mentor coaches by proactively providing ongoing feedback and communication.
Work with the Club Administrator and other programs leads to plan and execute WUFC Summer Camps, Winter Break and Spring Break Programming.
With the TD, design and participate in coach selection within, interviews and assessments.
Performs other duties as required by the TD and CA.
Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrates knowledge of current thinking in areas of conditioning, soccer techniques and strategy, and leadership.
Demonstrate ability to lead, motivate and guide players and coaches.
Communicate, model and reinforce expectations to players and coaches.
Certification at, or working toward, B Level with the National Coaching Certification Program.
The hours of work will reflect the player and coach needs during the outdoor and indoor seasons. The position will be full-time (mostly evenings and weekends) based in Whitehorse, Yukon and the hourly wage is negotiable.
