Title: CITY2 Assistant CoachReports To: Sporting Director,CITY2 Head CoachAbout St. Louis CITY SCIn August 2019, TKFC LC was granted Major League Soccer's (MLS) 28th team - St. Louis CITY SC. The team will be MLS' first majority female-owned and female-led organization and has its sights set on launching for the 2023 MLS season. The 100 percent St. Louis-based owners are committed to becoming an exceptional club and neighbor and a symbol for the future of our city and region. The team will be a part of the fabric of St. Louis and will become a symbol for the future. This is more than sport; the team will work to connect the city and region through passion and purpose. These characteristics define the team's culture, and the team's employees must also embody these traits.PurposeThe St. Louis CITY SC CITY2 Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the Sporting Director, CITY2Head Coach in creating an elite training and competitive environment that strives to recruit players from all parts of the St. Louis region. The CITY2 Assistant Coach will strive to achieve the highest level of success by creating a team with a culture of excellence, that provides a life enriching experience and seeks to develop a complete player on and off the field.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOn Field Coaching:Attend all Team training sessionsAssist Head Coach with individual and group instruction; and coordinate individual training for young players after group training sessions.Coaches MeetingAttend all daily coaches meetingsAssist the preparation of the team training sessionsReview Previous Team game and training sessionsGame Administration:Help in preparing pre-game meetings; and gather information from players and give input related to travel, pre-game meals, and lodging.Administrative:Maintain day to day integrity of the program.Pre-SeasonCoordinate with staff (pre-season)Participate in pre-season meeting schedule; and assist in training schedule.Community:Interact with local soccer communityMaking public appearances and participating in promotional and sponsorship activities on behalf of the Team (and its sponsors) as are reasonable in light of employee's position as Assistant Coach without additional compensation; and involve players with community outreach activities.Other Duties:Performing such other duties consistent with the employment as Assistant Coach that may from time to time be reasonably determined as assigned to Employee by the Head CoachQualifications:USSF 'B' LicenseUSSF 'A' PreferredAt least 5 years of coaching experience in professional soccerStrong teaching backgroundAbility to plan, analyze, and teach developmental concepts to young goalkeepers.Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion.English/Spanish is preferred but not required.Excels in using video editing software and collecting data through such platforms as Wyscout, Hudl, Sportscode, Coachpaint, Opta, and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and OutlookSkills and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of soccer tactics, sport science and multidisciplinary development.Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment.High ability to work with and guide a team.Expert knowledge to identify, develop and support soccer talent.Set and maintain a high standard of work performance, delivering quality consistently and effectively.Accurate, efficient, and timely execution of tasks and able to be flexible and resourceful in response to changing priorities and needs.Excellent facilitation skills, including the ability to manage and resolve tensions, disputes and conflicts.Detail oriented and organized with effective time management and prioritization skills.Must be able to work evenings, weekends, events, and holidays as required.A motivated growth-mindset and life-long learner.Passionate, positive, and pro-active about player development.A strong work-ethic and ability to plan and reflect on trainings and matches.Detail-oriented, analytical, and attentive to the nuances of player development.Versatility that combines practical on-field experiences and off-field planning.Innovativeness and adaptability to stay at the leading edge of player development.Cooperative spirit, pro-active collaborator.Strong communication skills.Ability to work well in a dynamic and professional environment.Intrinsically motivated to progress within the club.Desire to continue with coaching education and qualifications.Physical Effort This position will require talking, listening, standing, and physical activity for long periods of time.Out-of-Office ResponsibilitiesMust be able to work evenings, weekends, events, and holidays as required. This position will require flexibility of work schedule.
