Job Purpose

Develop and implement, in conjunction with the Board and management, the vision and business plan for the business
Provide leadership and direction for the organisation
Determine and lead overall execution of strategy, including managing key staff and volunteers
Establish and monitor milestones related to our financial and operating plans
To build the presence of the AFC’s brand, experience and product set within the local business community and nationally
Be responsible for implementing the culture for the entire organisation
Be responsible for the day-to-day running of the football club

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Lead the day-to-day operations and be the face of Altrincham Football Club
Identify and pursue business development opportunities in line with our core values of Altrincham Football Club and deliver successful commercial outcomes
Develop and deliver an exceptional match-day event experience: including ticketing, facilities, hospitality, retail and food
Develop and deliver exceptional customer experiences outside of match day including building a strategy for Hospitality and Events
Deliver clear communication aligning with the Club’s brand values and mission across all platforms including digital/social media channels
Ownership of retail stock management and order fulfilment
Budget responsibility for the non-football part of the Club
Liaise with the Director of Football/Board on the football budget to enable appropriate reporting of the overall budget
Work closely with the football staff and leadership to support an environment for them and the teams to compete at the highest level – including first class support in arranging contracts, logistics, travel, facilities, catering etc
Take part in helping improve the stadium facilities by supporting the Stadium Director
Lead, develop and inspire colleagues and volunteers in all their decisions to successfully deliver the Club’s objectives – financially, socially and sustainably
Continually develop and reinforce an entrepreneurial and high-performance culture across the organisation
Attend National League meetings to represent the Club’s views, lobbying in its best interests and in accordance with its values and mission
Demonstrate leadership and a strong working relationship with the Club’s Community and Junior section, to further the Club’s interests, mission and impact within the community and engage with the fans

Essential Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

Experience in a senior management position
Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting
Ability to build consensus and relationships among executives, partners, and the workforce
Understanding of human resources and personnel management
Experience with corporate governance
Proven negotiation skills
Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions
Ability to inspire confidence and create trust
Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate
Flexible approach to working hours
