At Rapids Youth Soccer, we focus on whole player development, both on and off the field. We strive for players to develop a lifelong love of the game and use the skills learned through their time with Rapids to allow them to be successful in all they desire to achieve.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Central Director of Player and Coach. The Central Soccer Start and 6U-7U Recreational Director is responsible for making sure the entire Soccer Start and 6U-7U programs not only meets but exceeds the needs and expectations of CRYSC members, partners and guests. Soccer Start is the toddler program for 3U-5U. Additionally, this role needs to ensure programs and services within the region align with the overall mission, vision and strategy of CRYSC. This position is 50% office and 50% field time.
TheCentral Soccer Start and 6U-7U Recreational Directorwill oversee and manage the administration and operations for the Central Region of Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club’s Soccer Start and 6U-7U recreational level programs, including, but not limited to, establishing, implementing, evaluating, and leading the program for new and existing members and exemplifying the ‘Heart Behind the Crest’ in all communications with members, partners and guests.
This individual should be forward thinking and proactive, creatively seeking new ways to offer services and improve the program to benefit CRYSC members, staff, and coaches. They must also be highly detail oriented, efficient, flexible, and growth oriented.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Communication/Customer Service

Implement, maintain and exemplify a standard of superior customer service across all interactions with staff, members and guests.
Respond to all emails and voice messages within 24 hours.
Be available during all office hours to answer phone calls, assist members who visit the office, and assist staff members.
Create a communication calendar for all ongoing communication to keep members informed, including but not limited to program overview, coach and player placement and key transition information.

Administration

Execute administrative duties across the Soccer Start and 6U/7U recreational programs including but not limited to player placement and coach recruitment.
Strong understanding of multiple softwares including LeagueApps, GotSport, Soccer.com, etc.
Have an understanding of the additional Central programs to help coordinate training schedules.
Connect with the Recreational Coordinator to make sure the website is updated with any information that pertains to the Central Soccer Start and 6U/7U programs.
Creating and sending program updates and emails.
Attend all staff meetings and any meetings pertaining to the Soccer Start and 6U/7U recreational programs.

Operations

Implement the technical portion of the Soccer Start and 6U/7U recreational program.
Provide age- and developmentally- appropriate curriculum for recreational teams and programs consistent with the Rapids club-wide curriculum and methodology.
Implement appropriate education opportunities for staff and identify, hire, retain and lead additional technical staff, including support staff and team coaches.
Organize and lead training, weekly communication, as well as overseeing all in-season and offseason components of the program.
Coordinate with the Recreational Coordinator and Camps Director to determine Soccer Start programming dates.
Support volunteers with coaching resources, including equipment, coaching clinics, curriculum, in-person game-day support, and other opportunities that help simplify the volunteer coach role.
Identify upcoming players from the 7U program to coordinate team formation with coaches and player placement into the 8U Recreational and Select programs.

Field Responsibilities

Connect with the Recreational Coordinator to ensure all practice and game fields are prepared for the season.
Promote the Rapids Way by supporting parent-volunteer coaches with on-field guidance in training sessions and games.
Foster a positive game-day experience for teams by serving as a point of contact for coaches, parents and referees during league games.
Observe and evaluate coaches to ensure the implementation of the Rapids Way for all teams.
Be an advocate and understand our Let Us Play campaign.
Observe and evaluate players to ensure each individual is supported in their experience and development.
Work in collaboration with older age group directors to ensure smooth transfer of players between programs upon age group transitions.

Additional Qualifications

Strong understanding of soccer. (USSF Qualifications preferably)
Must be able to consistently type 65+ wpm.
Excellent organization, verbal, and written communications skills.
Excellent people skills in a diverse environment.
Ability to motivate others around you and work as a part of a team.
Ability to lead a passionate and energetic team.
Available weekends and nights as needed.
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Be able to pass a comprehensive background check.

MARKERS OF SUCCESS:

Excellent Customer Service- Consistently providing quick and accurate information via all platforms of communication.
Player Identification and Program Transfer -Appropriately recommend players for future programming commensurate with ability level and holistic considerations. Program recommendations must come from an intimate knowledge of players, teams, and programs. Understanding of which teams will stay together between age group transitions.
Notable Positive Culture- Soccer Start and 6U/7U teams consistently acknowledge feeling positively supported through the Program Directors onsite presence, influence, and promotion of club values to all members
Evident Conflict Resolution- Program director is able to strategically mitigate conflict through proactive actions, and manages conflict of all varieties with poise.
Coach Recruitment Retention- Responsible for the timely assignment of coaches to teams within his/her program.
Coach Education- Build relationships with parent volunteers and staff coaches alike to promote and implement the club’s Player Development Plan (PDP).
Operations and Logistics- Program director is responsible for the timely placement of players on teams and collaborating with administrators, field coordinators, etc. to ensure the gameday environment looks professional and reflects Rapids marketing.
