Role description
We are looking for the right people to join our pool of casual Academy Physiotherapists / Therapists to assist the Academy Medical Department in supporting young athletes medically across the Academy. You will also provide support in the following areas: Match Day 1st aid cover and support; Training cover and support from U9-U21; Tournament support; Overseas tours, so flexibility will be required in terms of days/hours worked

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To provide accurate assessment and diagnoses of all academy injuries.
To provide, log and develop high quality evidence based treatment and rehabilitation of Academy players.
To provide and maintain up to date records of Screening Protocols as directed by the Senior Academy Physiotherapist and in conjunction with EPPP requirements.
To maintain accurate records of injuries and medical interventions on Club PMA.
To maintain and update qualifications and CPD by contributing to the clubs medical department in-service programme in liaison with the Head of Academy Physiotherapy
To perform any other duties as requested by Senior Management Team
To adhere to a strict code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to Reading Football Club and its operation
There is an expectation that you will undertake adhoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
QUALIFICATIONS: Essential - BSc Hon Physiotherapy or related discipline; HCPC Registered; CSP Registered. OR BSc Sports Therapy or BSc Sports Rehabilitation Pitch side post graduate qualification. FA’s ITMMiF Trauma Qualification. Desirable - MSc degree in Physiotherapy or related studies; Trauma Qualification (e.g ATMMiF)
EXPERIENCE: Essential - Experience of Elite sport preferably football
KNOWLEDGE: Desirable - Understanding of EPPP and requirements of working in an Academy
SKILLS: Essential - Computer Literacy including MS office and Excel; Ability to encourage, maintain and manage elite footballers
ATTITUDE: Essential - Committed to offering world class support services to young and aspiring footballers
