Job description
Founded in 1882, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is an English Premier League Club, based in North London.
Led by the late great Bill Nicholson, the Club became the first in England to win the League and FA Cup Double in 1961, and the first in the UK to win a European Trophy two years later. Spurs has since been home to some of the game’s great entertainers, including Jimmy Greaves, Glenn Hoddle, Paul Gascoigne, David Ginola, Gareth Bale, Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane.
In April 2019, the Club opened an iconic new stadium that sits at the heart of a £1billion sport-led regeneration of North Tottenham. The main role of the successful applicants will be providing Match Day Academy cover, both home and away, weekend tournament cover and foreign tours. As part of our responsibility to excellence we offer all casual staff a comprehensive weekly continuing professional development program at the THFC academy, enabling Physiotherapists to develop their skills.
This is a casual part time paid role working weekends, plus regular travel to away games. The normal place of work is at the Academy Training Centre in Enfield. The position will involve match-day work so candidates should be willing and able to work over weekends and/or Bank Holidays.
We are looking for pro-active individuals with experience who are up to date with current literature, who understands their scope of practice, and who seeks to develop their skills.
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Lead Academy Physiotherapist, the successful candidate will provide first class professional emergency pitch side first aid/trauma management and physiotherapy support to the playing staff of the U9-16 Academy teams on a match day (predominantly Sundays but can be midweek or Saturday fixtures).
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnosing and treatment of injuries on the pitch side of games.
Looking at early rehabilitation and management programs, injury prevention strategies and first aid/trauma management.
A good understanding of growth & maturation and its implications on the development of athletes is essential.
Effective and appropriate communication skills, along with the highest standards of professionalism are expected.
Awareness of the expectations of a Category 1 Academy according to the EPPP and previous experience in the use of the PMA system is advantageous.

Skills & Experience:
Due to the operation of the Training Centre we do require the successful candidate to work a minimum of 2 in 4 weekends per month.
Availability for home and away fixtures throughout season
Minimum of 1 international tour per season
Minimum of 1 weekend tournament per season
50% attendance to THFC in-service training sessions per season
BSc/MSc Hons Physiotherapy
CSP & HCPC registration
ATMMIF/ITMMIF
Minimum of 18 months post grad experience
Previous experience of working in elite sporting environment/Academy football
Hold a full UK driver’s license
DBS/safeguarding clearance will be required for this role. Due to the nature of the operation the successful candidate will not be able to start until the fully enhanced DBS with child barring check has been returned subject to
