The Premier League are looking for a Broadcast Operations Executive to join the existing Broadcast Operations Team. The Broadcast Operations Executive will report directly to the Senior Broadcast Operations Manager and support the Head of Broadcast Operations and the Broadcast Operations Manager to ensure that all day-to-day workflows are executed to the highest possible standard. They will deliver a best-in-class service to our Rights Holders and Clubs.This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced team of broadcasting experts at the Premier League. The role would suit a driven, ambitious and personable candidate, with excellent communications skills and a background in a Broadcast production/operations role, or within a Sports Broadcasting business.
Our hybrid-working model also allows you some variety on your place of work, offering you the chance to work from home on some days each week. Where possible, you will attend the office or site visits in line with our company policy. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.
Provide general support to the Operations Managers with the Match Manager programme, including supporting the delivery of training sessions throughout the season, attending Match Centre and Governance meetings as required.
Will attend Match days regularly to assist the Match Managers and learn the role to a level of being able to cover when required. May become a Match Manager themself, in time.
Will attend the busiest matches to support the Match Manager with the broadcast management of pre and post-match activities/interviews.
Arrange and manage all Match Manager kit requirements on a seasonal basis, including any replacement stock, as required.
Build strong relationships with the UK Host Broadcasters, Premier League Productions, Match Managers and Clubs. This will involve maintaining effective working relationships with a range of personnel.
Help the department to deliver the busiest broadcast matches, working with Premier League Productions to improve workflows and ensure delivery to the highest standard.
Work with the Senior Broadcast Operations Manager on our digital management systems, including providing log ins and management of user types.
Provide support with our Broadcast accreditation system and help to manage feedback meetings with partners on this system. Working with Data-Co representatives as required.
Assist with the departments Broadcast sustainability work.
Attend end of season meetings and events (including Trophy Lift matches).
Assist the Operations team with the Championship Club Broadcast Surveys, helping to design and deliver suitable facilities at those Clubs that achieve Premier League status.
Provide support for in stadia technical integrations (such as VAR and Broadcast Cabling requirements).
Be the central point person for the department's planning meetings and coordinate all aspects of that planning, such as meeting room bookings, minuting, producing documents, scheduling and reminders for deadlines.
Provide administrative support across all workflows, from updating master camera plans and Club guides, to booking travel and running a Host Broadcasters fixture list.
Integrate and liaise with the Media Rights Delivery team on all aspects of Matchday reporting.
Attend weekly internal matchday summary meetings as required.
Requirements For The Role
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Experience working in a broadcast operations role (such as a Production Coordinator or Production Manager) or a relevant role in a sports business.
A knowledge of / interest in Football / Sport and the workings of organisations involved in the industry.
Works calmly under pressure and has a keen, can-do attitude.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
First class Microsoft Office skills (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Excellent attention to detail and deadlines, taking pride in the quality of work produced.
Strong interpersonal and literacy skills with the ability to interact well with people at all levels.
Able to read situations sensitively and intelligently with an understanding of strategic context (knowing when to persist and when not to).
Resilient and calm manner. Tactful and diplomatic.
Weekend matchday working is a requirement of the role and there will be offsite meetings that require travelling away from the main London office.
Nice-to-haves for the role
Knowledge of Microsoft Visio.
Previous Outside Broadcast or Production company experience.
Previous role working for, or on behalf of, a Premier League Rights Holder.
Knowledge of broadcast technology, camera requirements and Director's wishes for camera locations.
