ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Role
We are looking for an Academy Sports Scientist on a casual basis for AWFC. The role will be responsible for delivering an effective analysis of GPS data in a way that coaches understand.

Your day-to-day
Bridge the physical gap to first team using data collection and interpretation
Leading and overseeing the GPS management day to day including daily live data feedback and plotting the future targets
Support and develop the AWFC academy fitness profiling and ensure that it is age-specific, comprehensive and meets FA requirements
Support and implement an individual development approach
Develop and understand where players maturational status is, and how we can support them all stages of their growth
Assist in the education of academy staff on requirements of robustness and resilience of athletes through the physical guidance of sessions
Create and implement sports science strategies in collaboration with our MDT to optimise the squads’ abilities to perform throughout the season
Support the development of talent ID profiles for age and position appropriate information to inform our decision-making process using data collection
Demonstrate the desire to develop the sports science provision within the academy programme through education and learning strategies


What we are looking for
A Degree (or equivalent) in sports science or strength and conditioning
Experience in the provision of strength and conditioning services, including coaching players and coaches to improve performance
Strength and Conditioning Qualification e.g. UKSCA, NCSA, CSCS
BASES Accreditation
FA Level 2 Coaching (or international equivalent)
Experience using and interpreting GPS data, ideally in a football context
Excellent communication skills
Ability to demonstrate good session planning and strong organisational skills
An ability to produce verbal and written reports

Please Note:The position requires a clear criminal record check, so the successful candidate will be required to complete a self-declaration and an enhanced DBS check.
