ABOUT THE CLUB
Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club (CRYSC) is a community soccer club, serving five regions in the state of Colorado spanning from Fort Collins to Castle Rock, which provides opportunities for all levels of players from beginner to advanced, from three to professional. CRYSC is one of the few true full-service soccer clubs in the nation, providing soccer for all players from different backgrounds.
This position is focused on supporting the effective operation and development of the Rapids Youth Soccer projects and the strategic leader and deliverer of Educational opportunities for the staff and coaches within the pathway.
The Associate Technical Director is responsible for supporting the creation of a Rapids Youth Soccer Technical Plan alongside senior Technical Leadership with actionable planning, coordination, and delivery of key educational projects such as USSF Courses, UEFA Pathways, Study Visits, Coach Scholarship, and the Next Wave project.
These schemes seek to underpin the quality of the coach within the Player Pathway and maximize the translation of the Player Development Plan throughout the ages and stages of the club. Additionally, the consistent activation of Rapids Youth Soccer’s Player Development Plan throughout the club either via education, evaluation, data analysis, or other key club initiatives such as Rising Rapids, Strategic Tournament scheduling, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs) that complement the growth and development of the Rapids Player Pathway will be key output.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the CRYSC Player Development Plan (PDP)
Support and contribute to the creation of the CRYSC Education strategy relative to the club PDP with innovative and inspring education opportunities e.g.
Club Wide Educational Calendar
Next Wave Project
Digital Online Education: specifically the design and plan for CRYSC LMS
Support the architecture of the CRYSC Player Pathway with insight and collaborative working within key pathway projects such as Rising Rapids, 9U-10U Select programming, Competitive and Elite Initiatives
Coach Development and Support
Support and evolve programs that recruit, educate and stimulate a positive learning environment for every coaching member of the club
Oversee the creation of a multi-educational pathway for coaches whose content will be relevant to coaches working within various ages and stages of players via the annual education calendar
Support Regional Technical Directors in the development of resources, tools and methodology that will allow for the successful implementation of regional education that is consistent club wide
Oversee the evolution of CRYSC innovative online education platform – EDUCATE and its component parts
Contribute to the ongoing evolution of a fit-for-purpose Technical Staff org chart

Strategic Plan for CRYSC Coach Education - A long term strategic vision including markers has been established that guides where, when and how opportunities for education are provided and the impact they should have.
Annual Coach Education Calendar - A yearly promoted plan of education opportunities for coaches across the spectrum of club coaching levels.
Coach Development Plans – A innovative, engaging and needs based Coach Development Plan has been created and completed for every coach and a mentor that will support their learning journey
Regional Presence - The role of the Associate Technical Diretcor is known and visible in all 5 Regional + Elite as source of coach and player development support, focused on delivery of PDP related themes
Innovation in Education – Via our club surveys we know that CRYSC is perceived both internally and externally as an innovative and progressive club with regards to its approach to education its coaching members
PDP Understanding - Across the club, the F/T staff and Competitive coaches know the function and content of the PDP, reflected in the survey results
Online Education Platform serves the needs of our coaches - By the end of 2023 1, RISE 2.0 is completed and includes a fully integrated and functioning LMS system that serves the educational needs of Rapids Coaches.
Next Wave Project delivers more female coaches into the Competitive and F/T work stream.
Player Pathway - Associate Technical Diretcor is an integral part of the planning and delivery of vital Player Pathway initiatives benefiting from their expertise
SKILLS FOR SUCCESS:
Have extensive experience in Coach Education both as a deliverer and developer of content
Understands the need
Understands the process and is innovative in its application
Minimum 7 years soccer coaching experience across multiple ages and stages of coaching
Childrens: pre 12u
Youth: post 13u
Recreation, Competitive, Elite team environment
Exceptional soccer knowledge

Experience in management of programming at a high level
USSF A-Licencing (or equivalents)
Has an enthusiasm and passion for education and soccer
Is an exceptional communicator with outstanding interpersonal relationship building, employee coaching and development skills
Ability to recruit and motivate remarkable staff and coaches and to help them succeed
Exceptional multitasking skills with the ability to tend to multiple problems at a time
Highly effective problem-solving skills, especially in situations of high stress
Strong knowledge of Club policies, goals and standards
Ability to generate a variety of reports and presentations displaying club wide performance
Strong customer service skills in the areas of handling disputes and treating member families with care
Independent worker not requiring constant supervision
