Position Description

U.S. Soccer is now hiring a full-time Associate in the Development Department. U.S. Soccer internships, referred to as Associates, are full-time, 6 month paid opportunities making an impact in the world of soccer in the United States.

U.S. Soccer has established an ambitious program dedicated to providing more opportunities for fans to connect with and invest in our teams and sport. The goal of the program is to maximize and leverage fan support to fund important development initiatives that will forward the sport of soccer in the United States.

Primary Responsibilities

This position will assist in the day-to-day operations of U.S. Soccer’s fundraising program, including prospect research, database management and logistical support for special events and programs. The Development Associate will report directly to the Manager of Development. The Development Associate will work from the U.S. Soccer headquarters in Chicago and their primary responsibilities will be to:
Research and vet current and new prospects to participate in high-access fan experiences, attend special events, and support new development initiatives
Support in maintaining a robust database, cataloguing relationships, participation and interests in U.S. Soccer development initiatives
Support in the extension, promotion and membership fulfillment of the U.S. Soccer Development Fund Circle Insider program
Serve as an integral contributor to the donor stewardship process, including executing all gift acknowledgements
Provide best-in-class customer service support, as necessary, for U.S. Soccer donors and fans
Provide logistical and administrative support for special events and programs including preparation and occasional on-site support
Assist with miscellaneous duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Strong organizational skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent internet research skills
Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs
Excellent written and verbal communication combined with a professional demeanor
Takes initiative with department and organizational goals in mind
Interest in working on a team with a collaborative team environment
Interest in fundraising and development

Desired Qualifications
Previous event support experience
Database management and experience with Salesforce
Previous fundraising experience and understanding of fundraising activities
Passion for soccer
