The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Under 23 Lead Coach to ensure the fulfillment of all responsibilities outlined in the job description. Job Brief/ Academy Assistant Coach Under 23
We are seeking an Assistant Coach for the Under 23 team. The post holder will liaise with the Under
23 Lead Coach to ensure all responsibilities outlined in the job description are fulfilled, assisting with
the successful development and transition of the club's Under 23 players.
Role mandatory prerequisites
• Based in Al Shawamekh, Abu Dhabi, UAE
• UEFA / AFC A licence (Must have)
• Fluent in English
Key Responsibilities:
• Work effectively within a high-performance environment.
• Exhibit ambition and desire to be an outstanding Professional Development Phase Coach.
• Adopt a multidisciplinary approach to ensure the well-being and holistic development of the
Academy Professional Development Players.
• Attend, supervise, and deliver coaching sessions as stipulated by the Technical Director and
Under 23 Head Coach.
• Support the U23 Head Coach during home and away games.
• Deliver elite-level coaching while working within the club’s coaching philosophy and
methodology framework.
• Manage the transition of players training and playing between different ages bands within the
Professional Development Phase.
• Prepare, deliver, and record individual learning plans for players.
• Work closely with various Academy departments, using a multidisciplinary approach.
• Prepare, deliver, and record players' 7-week reviews.
• Ensure all relevant administration is completed and kept up to date.
• Take responsibility for personal learning and stay updated with modern trends and
developments within the elite age bands.
• Maintain the highest coaching license and any other relevant qualifications and awards.
• Establish positive working relationships and high standards of behavior with players, staff, and
parents.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
• Adhere to the club’s Codes of Conduct.
• Ensure the club’s Philosophy, Culture, Values, and Vision are communicated and adhered to
at all time.
• Implement all policies, practices, and procedures related to the safeguarding of young people.
General Responsibilities:
• Adhere to all club policies, health and safety procedures, and safeguarding policies.
• Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct at all times.
• Undertake other duties as may be reasonable.
Key Relationships:
• Academy Technical Director
• U23 Head Coach
• Scouting & Recruitment Staff
• Performance Teams (Medical, Sports Science, Performance Analysis & Human Science)
• Operations Team (including Welfare & Education)
• External Stakeholders (e.g., UAE FA, UAE Pro League)
Essential:
• UEFA / AFC A License
• Experience working within an elite football environment and/or an Academy structure
• Strong English language skills
• Excellent organizational, communication, and technical skills developed in a similar role
• Competent IT skills
Desirable:
• Good level of playing experience
• Experience in coaching and/or management of players and staff within the Professional
Development Phase
• Advanced Youth Award
• Basic First Aid for Sport (BFAS) Certificate
• Additional language skills (e.g., Arabic, Spanish, French)
Safeguarding Statement:

What we offer:
• Competitive compensation ranging from AED 23,000 to AED 28,000, subject to qualifications and
experience.
• Full-time position: A minimum of 35 hours per week, with flexible scheduling that may include
weekends.
