Job Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer
Department: Sports Medicine
Reports to: Head Athletic Trainer
Position Summary: The Assistant Athletic Trainer assists in managing the day-to-day sports medicine operations for the Chicago Red Stars first team. In this capacity, the Assistant Athletic Trainer provides injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for players. The Assistant Athletic Trainer works under the direction and supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer and Team Medical Director.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Attend and monitor all team activities in preseason, regular season, and post season (home and away)
Manage and maintain up to date and detailed records of all athletes in league provided electronic medical record system
Comply with team and league medical policies, protocols, and game day operations
Assist with budgeting, ordering, inventory, and use of supplies and equipment
Work in collaboration with medical staff and general contractors to program and deliver the highest level of care through all phases of athlete rehabilitation and return to play scenarios
Perform other duties as assigned or required
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training
Nationally Certified through NATABOC
3+ years of field/practical experience.
Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in the State of Illinois.
Current CPR certification.
Possess personal professional liability insurance.
Able and willing to travel.
Able and willing to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and in nontraditional settings, within a team atmosphere.
Must have the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, players, etc.
Master’s degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or health-related field
Experience within soccer or professional sports preferred.
Advanced certification/experience in applied movement analysis, movement education, or performance related fields
Experience working in collaboration with coaches and other support staff.
Effective academic and applied knowledge of contemporary practice in athletic training/rehabilitation/sports Medicine
