The Assistant Athletic Trainer assists the Head Athletic Trainer in managing the day-to-day sports medicine operations for the Club's Second Team, CITY2. In this capacity, the Assistant Athletic Trainer provides injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for CITY2 Players' medical problems. The Assistant Athletic Trainer works under the direction and supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assume the duties of the Head Athletic Trainer in the event the Head Athletic Trainer is unable to or at the discretion of the Head Athletic Trainer.ABOUT TKFC LC | St. Louis CITY SCMajor League Soccer's (MLS) first majority female-owned and female-lead organization has its sights set on launching for the 2023 MLS season. Seating capacity of the open-air stadium will be approximately 22,500. Included with the build of the stadium will be the team Administrative Offices and Training Facility immediately adjacent to the stadium in Downtown West St. Louis.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Working in collaboration with the Medical Staff:Manages the healthcare of Players including, but not limited to first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, development of rehabilitation and prevention programs, as well as conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals.Maintain a complete and up to date roster of Player health and participation records in the League-provided electronic medical record (EMR) system.Order and maintain inventory supplies and clinical equipment.Keep athletic training room and clinic area safe, clean, and organized.Help the Club Medical Staff regarding Player's health and safety.Comply with all MLS medical policies and protocols.Comply with OSHA standards with regards to blood borne pathogens.Attend all activities/meetings/programs as required by the League.The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assume the duties of the Head Athletic Trainer/Therapist in the event the Head Athletic Trainer/Therapist is unable to or at the discretion of the Head Athletic Trainer/Therapist and/or Club Chief Medical Officer.Perform other duties as assigned or required.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum four (4) year bachelor's degreePreferred Master's degree in a health-related fieldSoccer experience or treatment of Soccer Players preferredMinimum of three (3) years certified athletic trainer/therapist experience (for 2023, the requirement will be minimum four (4) years)NATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer/TherapistIn good standing with NATABOCState or Province License in the state/province in which the Club calls home, if required by the state/provinceCPR certification for Health Care ProviderMaintain personal professional liability insurancePreferred certification: CSCS, PES, LMT, and/or NREMTSt. Louis CITY SC is building a team that is passionate about their work, the success of our Club and the growth and revitalization of our region.
