Description – Age Group Head Coach

Background

Ancaster Legacy Football Club, established in 1985, is a proud and supportive non-profit organization,

passionately committed to the ongoing development of players, coaches and match officials, valued by

our members and our communities.

Key Responsibilities

The Age Group Head Coach shall hold the following responsibilities:

Player Development:

Must actively manage the age group and deliver the curriculum as set out by the Club.
Must actively communicate with parents/players and respond to all parent/player inquiries
regarding the program.

Age Group Head Coach must be the first point of contact for all parent/player inquiries.
Must set up communication to ensure that all players and parents have a clear understanding of
upcoming activities on an ongoing basis.

Oversee and actively participate in minimum of two (2) training sessions per week and one (1)
game per week, indoor and outdoor.

Must work with the parent coaches within the age groups to ensure game day rosters are
balanced correctly and ensure players are placed into the correct/ appropriate game day

environment with player movement, when necessary

In partnership with the parent coaches, provide each player within the program two (2) written
evaluations per calendar year (March and July)

Must oversee player identification within the recreation programs.
Coach Development:

Attend and actively participate in all coaching development sessions conducted by the Club.
ASC will support coaches as they endeavor to complete their coaching certifications. All funding
is subject to prior approval from the Technical Director.

Must recruit and assist one manger for the age group/gender.
Program other:

Must submit a VSC Police check validated within the last three years with signed contract.
Must read and comply with the Club’s Grassroots Development Program outline and curriculum.

The Age Group Head Coach will be supplied with Club coaching attire and this is mandatory to
be worn to all training/ games.

The Age Group Head Coach is responsible for and must oversee all administrative aspects with
support from parent coaches relating to the program.

Will provide weekly updates to the Technical Director on how the program is going and if there
are any issues.

Will attend Age Group Head Coach meetings.
Age Group Head Coach must attend the Club AGM, or with approval from the Technical
Director, send a delegate for the program.

Must be available to work weeknights and weekends.
Qualifications

Must hold and submit a valid Ontario Soccer Learn to Train Coaching Certificate (CSA C license or
higher preferred), Making Ethical Decisions, Respect in Soccer and Making Headway with signed

contract.

Must be familiar with LTPD.
Leadership skills, mentoring ability, and program development experience.
Organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage resources.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient computer skills
Must work effectively with volunteer coaches, technical staff, and office staff.
Must clear a criminal record check and vulnerable sector search.
Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with qualifications.
