Ahead of the Game Coordinator

About the opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity as Ahead of the Game Coordinator to join our growing Everton in the Community health and wellbeing team.
As Ahead of the Game Coordinator you will be responsible for the implementation of ‘Ahead of the Game’. Funded by global charity Movember, Ahead of the Game is an evidence-based mental health sport-programme for young people with considerable demonstratable efficacy and impact.
Working alongside Rugby League Cares (RLC) to deliver the programme to over 5000 children and young people, their parents and local coaches, the programme consists of a number of dynamic workshops, delivered within a sporting context. The post holder will benefit from additional facilitation and delivery skills training provided by our partner RLC.
Other key responsibilities will include:
Plan and manage project logistics which include booking session slots.
Deliver specific mental health awareness sessions to vulnerable children and young people (CYP) at various locations across Merseyside.
Deliver sessions in various settings, (classroom, sports hall, community club) focussing on mental health topics.
Liaise with local partners such as schools and community clubs across the Merseyside area.
Develop and implement effective monitoring and evaluation processes to capture data and achieve project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with funding requirements.
Safeguarding
To understand the Club’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.
Who we are looking for: Essentially, we are looking for an individual who has experience of delivering multi-sport coaching and workshop sessions with children, young people and adults within school and/or community settings.
With the ability to demonstrate patience, empathy and a non-judgemental attitude, our successful candidate will have a genuine passion for supporting people to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Other key Knowledge and Skills will include:
Level 1 or 2 certificate in coaching multi skills
Ability to communicate and present effectively to various groups which include (but not limited to) children, parents and coaches as this will be integral to the role.
Experience of delivering mental health provision.
Specific knowledge of mental health conditions
Ability to adapt to meet the needs of different groups.
Occasionally required to work unsocial hours, evenings and weekends is essential
